Mankading is legal.
where as batsman leaving the crease is not.

So shutup your holes and dont talk about spirit of the game. If batsman can take few steps (even some inches) lead to take run then why should he stant at bowlers end? Go and stand next to other batsman.

When batsmen talks about sportsmanship , he is the first person in violating that in this case. When he knows that, the bowler is well within the rules to run him out, and he thinks that he is entitled to just a warning due to the so-called sportsmanship behaviour. He will keep on commiting the same behaviour till the bowler warns him or he will keep on doing it since he will think that, he is only entitled to a warning due to the "sportsmanship behaviour".
Here Karthik had already warned the batsmen, so when the batsmen repeated the same , he ran him out.
Here is one more example. In 1992, when India went to South Africa , Kapil Dev, got Peter Kirsten out in similar circumstances and there was outrage among the Africans. But here also, Kapil had not crossed the ethical line even though the South Africans believed he had. Kapil had, in all fairness to him, warned Kirsten twice previously in the series before eventually taking evasive action at Port Elizabeth.
SO do you that the bowler should take the blame? The mistake is comitted by the batsmen. But when the bowler runs him out, he is blamed. This is a clear case where the offended is punished instead of the offender
I would say that he neednt have given the warning in the first place. Cricket rules clearly state that the batsmen can be run-out in this circumstances, irrespective of whether a warning has been issued earlier.
