taklu, yes there are not many runs before raina's name in the last few matches...but we cannot drop players like raina or yuvraj who too has not been very successful in the recent past...but players like these deserve to persevered even after a few failures...they have been fabulous at no 4 and 5 in odis for the past few years...look what happened to players like jadeja and rohit....people were blaming dhoni for persisting with them...look where they are now! btw when the writer writes where have jadeja's big runs vanished...i suppose he means the runs he made at domestic level...he actually has not made big runs on the international scene..he only did what he could at his position in odis which is very low..at the test level he is new...in odis actually he is good enough to be taken as a specialist bowler...

btw in the defence of raina i also want to add one more point...previously when rohit dhawan virat were not in the team he actually got more chances to bat and more deliveries to face and hence he could hit some 50s and other useful scores...with the super success of rohit dhawan virat for the past many odis...spare a thought for poor raina...how many chances he had for hitting 40s or 50s at his batting position...does he get the chance of facing as many deliveries as before?
even dhoni does not have too many runs for the past few odis what with rohit dhawan and virat not giving him too many chances to bat for long time...

if we persist with someone long enough, sooner or later they are going to play a knock or two (probability)..hope for raina's sake he can find some form soon. yuvi is struggling too, and he's only playing to try and cement his place with 'hard fought' scores.
your second post of defense would make raina proud to have such a fan!
either way, sv, i asked you to stop defending, not add in another line of defense lolz.. --
anyway, congrats for the 50% score in hyderabad, not bad.

yes i know, that's a great rating gain ,you play much better than what your rating shows. goodluck and hope to see you >1750 . surely the drawn games against two much higher rated players helped :)

btw, what was the deal with the hanumanth reddy guy? he's shown as unrated ..and it shows you lost to him, but will that not affect your rating? ..i calculated the rating gain/lost for every round and it comes to 16.8 points (not taking that 'unrated' hanumanth reddy into account) ..

taklu if an unrated defeats a rated player, unrated player gets some rating but rated players rating is not affected...so even though i lost to him (he played very well) fortunately i did not lose any points...

that hanumanth reddy guy will have to play a total of 9 rated players in a calendar year...and the no. of points he makes against them will decide his rating...according to the formula of counting rating...
but in case he does not get to play a minimum of 9 rated players in a year then this rating performance will be null and void...
i first got my rating in 2004...the average rating of my opponents was taken into account and the no. of points i made against them decided my rating according to the formula...
in this way though i got my rating in 2004 all my rated opponents who either lost or drew with me lost not rating points because they lost or drew against an unrated player...

oh i c..so since he's played 10 rounds now(10 rated players), he will get a rating in the next list. however, what i thought is , how come an unrated player can score 50% first up..it's unlikely for a 'new' guy to just come in and defeat of all people, you. .so i thought probably he had a rating but is delisted at the moment for some reason(could be the case?)
either way, i do get it. if you don't mind could you send me your games once you're done putting them in cbase? well yeah, cuz i know you from here, so i'm curious about your games..

it is not necessary that this reddy is a delisted player....anyway now those players are forgiven and they have got their ratings back...for eg. ketan khaire who played in this tournament also had played for the other group and he was not recognized for some period....but now he is back in the aicf family with his previous rating...
it is not necessary that an unrated person cannot score good in first attempt...i know many players myself who were lucky enough to play 9 or 10 rated players in one tmt and get good rating...these are simply good players who may not have played any rating tmt previously...btw 'new guy' naradla did not defeat all suddenly he won 3 drew 2 got walkover in 1 round and lost 4. I know one player ramchandra bhat who is a good player and had even coached some good players who got good rating! and he himself was unrated...but then a few years back he played in a rating tmt and a guy was who was unrated before the tmt became a 2000 rated player after that tmt!
