when players are given free reign and allowed to select coaches and selectors...clarke got too big for his boots when he did that...
this is what happens when arrogant players and captain throw out great greg chappell....he was the one who put india on the road to no 1 rank in all formats...
The English must not be believing themselves of the score line of 3-0.Thanks to rain and the spectacular resurgence of the determined Aussies from the 3rd test onwards the score line could have been easily be 2-2. Even at Durhm the cameras kept panning constantly towards the sky on the 3rd and 4th day with England supporters and commentators appearing to be praying for the dark clouds to invade the ground! It was evident no one, least the England side believed England could win it until after the drinks break when that sudden burst of Stuart Broad bowling ripped through the Aussies. In fact after that century partnership start the Aus seemed to be well on their course to a deserving win against a below par English side when that unexpected collapse and turn around. Due to rain delay it was stretching into late night and most of us in india perhaps had switched off to go to sleep almost sure of an Aus win on the 5th day. But real surprise awaited in the morning papers! Perhaps the inexperienced Aus side could not sustain the pressure of chasing. The unexpected win for the England raises many questions about the side ! Why had the English batting and bowling slide down so badly ? Why Monti Panesar was dropped ? A/Cook looks lot tentative and unsure of himself and looks nowhere near what we saw of him during his last India tour !Is the English side rattled by the unexpected Aus revival ?
