ravindra jadeja was initially considered n taken purely as a batsman. but even during that time, his bowling was highly under-rated. i felt he was good bowler, but had some doubts abt his batting abilities inspite of his big scores in domestic ckt as batsman. n he proved by his sheer hard work that he is really a good bowler. now he is considered more as a bowler. (i wud rate his wkt taking spells in tests against ausi anytime ahead of ridiculous 'good' ipl performances)
he is inverse of ravi shastri (who became batsman after being selected as bowler).bt thats a good sign coz v need more of bowlers than batsman. but jadeja works hard on his batting skills, he can improve his bating at 'intnl' level as well coz he is a person with 2 triple centuries in his name at natl level which is no mean achievement. i prey for him as best bowler n very good batsman at intl level.
He has started taking wickets in past few months.... But still the Bowling improvement is not that great to consider him as No.1 bowler in ODI....Its been just 2-3 series that he has started performing.... Before AUS Test series he was nowhere.... It means that according to ICC he is a better bowler than.... Ashwin,Ajmal,Swann,Ojha.... Most of these bowlers are performing well for so many years....He is ahead of them after few series... This is really surprising.... I think its just a beginning for Jadeja....Its too early to rank him No.1.....Coz no one knows whether he can perform on wickets which doesn't assist turn....He first came as an All-rounder....In Batting he has shown that he can hit those big shots....But Batting is not just about hitting big shots....So A long way to go for him....

you mean YOU have started to notice him for the last 2-3 series....he has always been a good odi (and even test, though he has played very few tests, even in them his bowling stats are like any good specialist bowler) bowler. If you started to notice him for the past 2-3 series that does not make a part time bowler or a bad bowler...right from his start in odis he has bowled economically and taking wickets and bowling full quotas...it is another matter you have woken up that he is bowling good only now....

I am not saying that he is a Bad Bowler....He is not tested till now on wickets which doesn't assist turn....In Champions Trophy indians got Slow and Low wickets which assisted turn....In Test matches he played on tailor-made pitches for spinners.... I am just saying that we must wait and see his performances in SA,NZ,AUS....how he performs in those conditions....Then we'll get to know whether he deserves to be No.1 or not.... These Tours will be a test for all the players not just Jadeja....

I agree...he was regarded more as a batsman and his bowling went largely unnoticed....true he is yet to perform to international standards in batting...but it is still early days...in tests he was so far played only 1 series and frankly his odi batting performance is quite good considering the batting position he mainly bats ....

Jadeja is not a part time bowler. If jadeja is a part time bowler then steyn ajmal swann and others are also part time bowlers. because jadeja bowls as much as these bowlers do (and also takes wickets and bowls economically)

Why are you including Raina in this....This Article is on Jadeja....Don't forget Quarter-final & Semi-final matches in World-cup.... Where Raina's contribution with the bat proved to be very Crucial in the end....

arun is a mental. Sachin was highest run geter un tournament, zaheer higest wicket taker & yuvu best allround performance. so offcourse sachin, yuvi & zaheer were the main reasons. Even in 2003 wcup when india reached till final, sachin was higesht scorer of tournament. As expected politician dhoni was big flop with except for one fluke inning. Dhoni was alos big flop with bat in all T-20 wcups 2007,20008, 2018 & 2012
