3RD TEST INTERESTINGLY POISED.ALL CREDIT TO CLARKE&CO
by damodaran mohan on Aug 03, 2013 07:23 PM

Well..well..welll..the English are under pressure for sure for the first time in the Ashes series. After the 2nd drubbing when Michel Clarke during presentation said his team still could still win the ashes there was laugher all around and it was taken as a joke by everybody including this blogger. But to the credit of Clarke &co. they showed terrific temperament and application to piled up a massive 527 runs against all expectations. Although Aus winning the series looks too far fetched but undoubtedly the aus shown character the way they have fought back in the 3rd test. Michel Clarke should get all crtedit the way he hs led from the front with his brilliant 187 pushing England on the backfoot Still England is a good side and in all probability would be able to overcome the pressure situation but they have to blame themselves for having got into the muddle due to complacency with DRS also creating confusion to put England in somewhat difficult position. If only England had picked Monty Panesar in the line up the story could have been different. One positive that has emerged is interest seems to have returned in the Ashes series the way Aussies have shown their resolve.

Ashes Test

It is a pity that Australia suffered in this test as also in the earlier tests too from bad umpiring - literally playing against opposition of 14 players including the 2 umpires!!! DRS needs to be taken a fresh look so also the choice for selection of the 3rd umpire.
