Mumbai crowds are the most worthless crowd in India
by Abhishek Banerjee on Apr 29, 2013 02:11 AM  | Hide replies

Was matching the match between KKR & CSK which was held in Eden few days back with my 5 year nephew. Jadeja played a super knock & took the game from KKR. Finally, when CSK won, my nephew started dancing all of a sudden. I asked him why & he replied by saying that KKR has won. I told him that CSK has won not KKR, & he asked me why the crowds are celebrating then.

There you go.

yes my bong brother! and your EDEN crowd is the same one who was responsible for abandoning the famous 96 world cup semifinal! needless to mention that India had to be declared to be lost without even completing the match. which other venue can compete with this?

they take this circus far too seriously and dont appreciate the opposing teams. And to think chennai team has only northies and foreigners performing for them and more or less true for mumbai too.

What about Ban-Gayle-luru...? RCB is in IPL because of Gayle..Gayle...Gayle..at some part because of ABD.
in MI Malinga is local....& Kartik, Raydu, Rohit few years back Sourabh Tiwari, etc .
foreigners....He he he ..
MI don't dependent on any one of them.

This bhajji is worst character. In match vs kolkata kkr were hitting mumbai bowlers but this guy made a drama of being injured and stopped the momentum of kkr by wasting a few minutes. Then he later hit a six in same match to make mumbai win. Where did his injusry to hand disappear then? I am sure this m0ron was fully reaponsible seeing sreesanth perform for punjab and felt jealous in first season when mumbai were losing to everyone. And what was the need to dance gangnam style after getting gayle out? He wants o have punga with everyone.

I guess you are right. By the way do you remember Indian team being booed at Eden Gardens? The whole Indian team! Why? because a Bengali Saurav Da (I am also his fan) was dropped for that match. What was this? Why blame Mumbai only? Its everywhere in India, otherwise what can prove the local parties winning every election in each state just because candidates belong to a certain religion/caste?

Pot Kettle Black
by mumbaikar on Apr 29, 2013 12:14 AM  | Hide replies

Oh Dear Virat...thought you had some ticker...but you still need to do some growing up...stop being a wimp and man up....The crowd is not there to support opposing team...if you want that play some other sport. And this coming from a man who abused his own Delhi team mate few days back...yeah you are right Virat...IPL is not the end of world.

Secondly Wankhede has the best atmosphere in India especially the day night games...It may not be huge like eden (With ignorant fans who support opposing teams when a certain dada pada is dropped), or picturesque like Mohali but apart from Banglore it has the most knowledgeable crowd. The crowd is also in your face if you provoke it. The aussies mainly Mcgrath, Slater, Michael clarke have felt it. Amongst Indians, Ganguly (Nagma Nagma was a chant you heard when he would field near ropes), Yuvraj and Ravi Shastri have been at receiving ends. Even Sunny has not been spared. So who is Virat. Grow up Cry Baby.

@ Bhasmasur, agree with you completely. I always thought that Mumbai crowd is more knowledgeable and appreciates good cricket but surprisingly not so. In 2005/6 I have been to watch a test match and a one day game. The test match was with England and Flintoff was bowling with fire giving Indian batsmen some tough time and lo you had the boisterous crowd abusing (filthy third rated language) a group of English fans who were all just enjoying the beautiful game. It went on for long. It was very uncomfortable for a people to sit and watch guests being abused in such pitiable manner. The one dayer with RSA was no different - similar abuses

I have been to many venues and watched international matches, I've never seen such third rated crowd as in mumbai.

Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad etc has far better crowd. Even Kolkata crowd appreciates good cricket and not like Mumbai.

Its a shame that Mumbai cricket attracts rowdies.

Mr,Bhasmasur,You are Spot on analysis. One section of mumbai crowd are really very knowledgeble about cricket,it's history, culture. But majority of the people coming to watch cricket in Wankhede are typical third grade mumbai tapories.Manners, respecting others these words are unknown to them.I am afraid if crowds of bangalore, kolkata, chennai also start booing and abusing oppostion player just because there is no sportmanship gesture from opposition team.

Someone have forgotten world cup match between INDIA and Srilanka at Eden Garden. If chennai crowd is so sporty then why punish Sri Lankan players and not allow them to play. What happens to so called educated crowd at this locations, why are they not supporting Cricket....introspection required for all crowds at all venues. Very few are genuine sports lover others believe in spreading hatred. Being such a great player Virat needs to send right message rather criticizing crowd, long way to grow up as matured person.

Pathetic Mumbai crowd behaviour
by sandy on Apr 28, 2013 11:39 PM  | Hide replies

Mumbai crowd suffering from superiority complex. What was the need of boowing a player during the game.In run out incident, bowler was defending a throw and he has not intentionally blocked batsman's run. Then what was kohli's fault.Umpires didn't find anything wrong on this.Talk of Spirit,Sportsmanship don't count in high octane t20 contests like this.Put aside this incident,Mumbai crowd behaviour is worst among all cities.Kolkata, bangalore, chennai crowd are also very vocal when supporting thier teams but equally apreciate the good show of opposition team. They don't see opposition players like enemies.Remember when csk beat MI in 2010 ipl final in mumbai,Not even a single aplause from the crowd and stadium became empty in 15 minutes before award ceremony.Where was the sportsmanship of the mumbai crowd ?When csk was defeated by kkr in chennai last year, just see how was the behaviour of the crowd.

does dhoni has anything to do with chennai except for his playing in csk?

Murder and accidental death are very different.Refering this run out incident, batsman raydu getting run out was accidental, both raydu and vinaykumar were right in thier own way.Probably spectators in Wankhede dont understand this difference.
