Gambhir is absolutely right and the reason for that is Delhi has more migrants than other citt, People come from other cities and settle here, but are not loyal to this city. That's y DAREDEVILS support is always less even if the match is in DELHI itself

Kolkata is not far behind from migrants than other city.Advantage in Kolkata people love all the migrant as one India no division. That waht Kolkata is and will remain same as long as bengalis are there.Bengalis are most lovable person in India.

Nothing Loyalty or any such stuff.
Kolkata people have too much khaali time (thanks to the Bandhs and anyways their attitude in general) to kill so they end up in stadium, make noise et al which these great people think as loyalty.

Now for a Kolkatta vs. Delhi match in Kolkatta, its natural there will be noise for Kolkatta. So what's the big deal.

Club Football v IPL

When you talk of fans and loyalty nothing compares to club football! IPL will never reach this level EVER!

When teams lose in football fans cry. When a team loses in IPL fans still smile and clap because IPL is not a sport but entertainment!

I live in UK and know the difference, noone really cares about IPL and who wins or loses it is just time pass and entertainment. Football clubs are followed religousally and fans will be willing to die for a team.

can IPL ever reach this level of loyalty?? never!

its just a cricket match, no need to cry when someone loses.. also the players are not fixed and go into auction every 3 yrs. so don't compare. just enjoy

loyalty my foot
by Ujjwal Satyapal on Apr 04, 2013 01:53 PM  | Hide replies

Its not a question of loyalty as kolkatans in general are always in search of a hero as unlike other cities they produce leaders once in a while. after satyajit ray and saurav ganguly they are short of heroes as always in general.so they fail to understand that shahrukh is there to make money only as we have seen in 1st IPL his was the only profit making team despite finishing last due to gate collection in city of fools. previous 4 IPLs also had winners but noone celebrated like those fools in kolkata. And they can never be loyal as they shown when Dravid was made captain replacing sourav they supported foreign team and celebrated loss of thew match by india
