Novel idea
by Krishnakumar Narayanan on Sep 29, 2012 12:11 AM  | Hide replies

Sensing the imminent fall in public interest in cricket due national team's appalling performances after 2011 WC, the outgoing selection committee chairman has submitted some novel suggestions in his last official BCCI meeting. He successfully argued that unless these measures are taken cricket no longer will attract sponsors and will end up as a mere sports item. The suggestions are listed below;
1. In all international T20 matches involving India, there will be no toss. Indian Captain (MSD) will decide whether to bat or bowl first.
2. These matches will no longer be 20-20 matches. It will be either a 30-20 match (if India bats first) or 20-30 match (if India bowls first).
3. MSD will decide the batting order of both the teams.
4. One run will be added to Indian total for each dot ball in opposition innings. This will easily fetch at least 5-10 extra runs for India.
5. Opposition batsmen with strike rate less than 80 in the innings will get 3 lives unless he is retired hurt. This will guarantee 3 lives to each of the 'below 80' batsmen, as Indian pace attack is unlikely to ruffle even a feather.
6. In case D/L method is used to determine the winner, MSD will make the calculations and his decisions will be final and binding on both teams as well as on Duckworth as Lewis.
Only Mohinder Amarnath tried to ask some clarification, but the moment he raised his finger he was given OUT from the BCCI selection committee.

Ifrfan patan played the innings of sachin today. If sachin played he would have played in the same way as irfan has played

It is always a history that Aus only loose if more young ones play at Indian team.
Dhoni should choose the Tiwary/Kumar/
Tiwary played really well wit Sri lanka last month .
Harbhajan singh right now is worst option in super 8 as with England match his bowling was just striaght with no turn.
Ashwin is silent player If could not do with bat he do with ball vice versa.
and he done with Bat in this match.
Sehwag is shooter if he plays he plays and India should take advt of him till his age.

Good idea. Given that so many Indians watch cricket, loss of the team is a big loss of morale for the nation, so it is in the best interests of the Nation to ban Indian team, IPL is ok.

united in failure
by desi twist on Sep 28, 2012 11:50 PM  | Hide replies

Before this match, there were various clashes and mud slinging regarding the team selection, mainly on regional grounds. After this match, everyone can be united in the abyssmal failure. It is clear that all bowlers and batsmen failed, irrespective of where they came from.
There will still be the oddball who will cry about Sehwag exclusion and such small things. I doubt whether it would have made any difference.

sehwag
by Village Boy on Sep 28, 2012 11:45 PM

it seems Yuvraj seems to be unfit for the match. he clearly need sometime. Irfan batting was very bad, it gave Australians confidence.Sehwag should have been there. His mere presence play on the opposition's mind. whenever he plays India will win. ofcourse he has consistancy problems, but he still worth being in the team. three spinners is one too many.

Just thinking - why has india problems with genuine fast bowler - were in - medium pace bowler do get enough chances and also get hit - dont you think atlest one real fast bowler is necessary - no umesh yadav - no varun aron - no that tall bowler - i forgot his name - but in their place comes people like balaji and pathan ....

I think India played to their potential; the problem is that the other teams are also playing to their potential. We cannot expect better performances from our players, so let us pray the the GODS and BOOKIES do a better job.
