I want to clear confusion of people here. A1 and A2 were already decided before the tournament. It depends on teams ranking rather than their position in group stage. England have higher ranking than India so Eng was already A1 and India A2. In case in Afghanistan qualifies then Afghanistan would have called A2. So there is no possibility of fixing. It's just lack of knowledge of you people.

One line to ICC and those bunch of jokers in ICC..u people r pathetic..insaneIdiots
Is utterly_nonsense.. Not sure who r those morons_from ICC gave this idea.. That team will be group as per their ICC rankings b4 tournament starts rather than how they performed in group matches in this tournament.. Or else how on earth, 4 group leaders Ind,Aus,SA and Pak(likely top of the group D) are in one group in Super8 and fighting for 2semifinal positions where all teams who r in 2nd position in their groups in one group and playing for another two positions.. This is simply crap...most_disgusting
From the tournament fixtures i feel all 4 teams that are toppers in their groups are in one group and teams that came second in their groups are placed in other group in the Super 8 stages. If so it will be very bad and eliminating the better teams without entering knockout stage. The organisers should be blamed for such a pathetic fixture. But it will definitely help Srilanka the home side reaching semifinals.
England were looking for easy group so they asked India to bat first and then batted poorly so they can get into weaker group rather than fighting with Australian, South Africa and Pakistan.

You got it wrong my friend. The group memebers you are talking will not play each other, so your point is totally absurd.

Mr Suresh,u are wrong.. On 28, Ind vs Aud, on 30 Sep, Ind vs SA.. So this crap_but true..these morons, decided who will be placed in one group b4 tournament starts..they selected on basis of ICC rankings instead of how u play in group matches..worst part is none of group leaders will carry forward their points, so two group leaders will be eliminated in super8 for sure..patheticICC
My guess is England threw the match! Look at the Super Eight grouping, now India is in the same group as Australia, Pakistan and South Africa, while England play NZ, WI and SL.. anybodys guess which group is the heavier one..
May be England's deliberate plan to go into a less stronger group in the next level. Also the pitch was not that good.Pace bowlers, which is england's strength could not do anything on this slow pitch.

Super 8 teams are pre decided based on rankings. It doesnt matter if India won or lost to England. India will be in Group with SA, Aus, Pak and Eng will be in the other group with SL, NZ and WI. Top two teams from each group in first round qualify but whether they are No.1 or 2 in that group or not doesnt matter. These are the rules.
