get the advantage of playing with mediocre teams..England can win Windies & Nwzland but Srilanka may be little tougher...hence they chose to lose to India in prelims...any comments?

Super eight grouping is based on teams rankings rather that their position in group stage. So how can they fix when it is already fixed before the tournament!!!

A,B,C,D grouping is based on team rankings. Based in the group position super eight grouping will be done. with this now we will be playing with SA, AUSTRALIA & PAK/BANGLA Where as after losing England will play aganist WI, NEWZLAND and Srilanka
Though India finished top of the table but it is below England's rank in T20s. The groupings are based on T20 rankings rather than their placings in Group. This is ridiculous on part of ICC to make schedule like this. One more thing if Pak wins today then all toppers of their groups will be in same group for Super8s.

There is only one good thing in this kind of grouping. There is no possibility of match fixing to enter in an easy group.

i dont think so that its based on ranking...as australia is seeded above WI in their group(austria was below WI when this grouping was done)
I wonder why India has not been placed on top of Group A with 4 points=two wins;as against England 2 points with only one win?India is playing Australia on 28th as the A2 Team.Australia is on top of the B group B1.Normally a top team clashes with the number two team.

You are right they table has been arranged already without taking team positions into account so India, Australia, South Africa and one of Bangladesh or Pakistan would be in one group, the other group has all the loosers, very funny the way they have set it up
