As a captain Mr. Dhoni could have taken Single on second last ball, and could have faced the last ball, In past he had finished lots of matches. As a Captain yesterday he could have faced the last ball. not a issue if we had lost the match. Rohit Sharma was new on the crease & he is also not in a good form. Mr. Cool was so Cool that he forgot how much balls he has faced and how much runs he has scored. If Mr. SRT had done such things then ?????? Any way every match is a learning for every cricketer. These are learning for us before the 20-20 World Cup. Hope They repeats the history of 2007, and not of 2010..

it is not dhoni fault. its Yuvaraj fault who got out of the 3rd ball. even if he had taken a single india could have won the match. easily.

They were chasing a comfortable run rate of 7 at one time. Then MSD came on ground and made sure that match goes till last over. He played some really miserable shots (not that he doesn't do that) which kept failing and we ended up trying to score too many runs last over.

yes, he never wins matches for us. He does the finish work on platform built by others. He doesn't even have a specific batting role. Keeps changing positions in order as per his convenience and opportunity.
Even yesterday there were 2 more batsmen waiting in dug out. Still he played that bad, he just wanted to make sure he stays there on field when India win match. Many times he pulled it out but it didn't worked for him yesterday.
And I am a firm believer of India's 07 T20WC was a big fluke. They have played miserably after that. Plus they are showing their skills after 2011 WC as well. So I am not sure if it's a team of world class winners anyways.
I like Dhoni's 'Mehaman Navazi' yesterday. We should always treat our guests with honour and not to hurt them. I appreciate Dhoni's gesture of giving victory to New Zealanders to maintain India's tradition.
Dhoni's obsession to Thrillers & Last ball finishes cost India the match yesterday. He has this habit of taking T20 games to close finishes and show his Heroism in the last over which backfired yesterday. Hope he learns a lesson from this not-so important T20 against New Zealand y'day.
Dhoni is making excuses that the loss was due to pitch . He is fully responsible for this loss .All the efforts made by Virat and Sueresh were wasted by this irresponsible batting by Dhoni .The scoring rate came down the moment he came in . He is at best a lath bazz , no finish in his game at all .He was sweeping without any effect . At the other end Yuvraj played magnificently .As always Dhoni was prolonging the agony till the last over .

murthy if you want to take dhoni's statement as an excuse it is your choice...but what he said was true...the pitch was not the same like when virat was batting in the first 10-12 overs...it was getting slow and difficult to hit...nz bowlers also bowled well and the pacers bowled slow balls deliberately as they would be harder to hit...
at the other end yuvraj was not playing so magnificently as you call it...it was only till kohli was there and when the pitch was good...after that yuvraj also found the going difficult...
for your info we needed 49 of last 42 balls and kohli got out of 1 ball of those 42 without making any addition to the score...rohit made 4 runs in 2 balls...dhoni made 22 runs in 24 balls and yuvraj made 15 runs in 17 balls (incidentally till the pitch was good yuvraj had made 19 runs in his first 10 balls.) there were 3 wides and 3 legbyes
It was our traditional hospitality that helped Kiwis to take away the last match of the tour. We have been advertising before the arrival of New Zealanders in India that our main issue was hosptality and to treat our guests well. Hats off to Dhoni and Yuvraj to give them the victory in golden plate and proving to World that for Indians "Athithi Devo Bhava"
