the only mistake ganguly commited as a captain was recommending chappel as coach..even steve waugh warned that chappel would'nt make a good coach..and this mistake cost ganguly's place in the side..bt chappel did some good things like bringing out the real sourav out to the world..one thing that chappel told was that gaguly after seeing some greenness on the pitch wud bring in a mysterious injury on the morning of the test and will ask for rest..this is so true if u check it..whenever india lost badly under stand in captain dravid, the pitch had somethig for the bowlers.
I have seen whole india hates bengalis. How do you guys forget that it is bcoz of The Bengalis you live in a free country. It was the Bengali tigers who fought against Goras and bought us Freedom.. Shame on you people....

Yes. They are the first once, who asked for separate country for religious minorities. Not West O104-7293949-0761033 Pakistanies. Now they are trying to make a grater Bangladesh buy occupying border states in India.

since tendu has played for 22 years...(for the time you cannot even think to just stand on a cricket pitch)..your memories gone dull..you forgot all those heroics of this gr8 player...one advice...don't spit on sky...orelse you know the result...be logical..and respectful...tendulkar is still good enough than 80% of the Indian players who are playing are dreaming to play for the country..you may also hate dada...but he was always right at heart...he knows cricket very well..and can recognise talent better than any player..that is why..you may love or hate him..but cant ignore him..I hope you understood.

ABCD, you are very right. Respect him for bringing that fighting spirit to the team after all those match fixing scandals involving Azaruddin and team was totally despirited. Whatever faults one tries to find in Ganguly, his contribution to Indian cricket is immense.
Dada did a thing which is easier for long time...................talent man great captain. Salute to you very straight forward thinking in game and real life.Because of that you got huge success you will be good coach for team india.
how the bangalis supported south africa in a south afria-india match at eden gardens simply cos ganduly was dropped from the team? Makes me hang my head in shame

Arnab, you are true indian, I am frm Pune but I don't like the charcter Sachin and Gavaskar playing only for record and money, likewise I hate ganguly for all the politics he plays, Bangali has many more talented people in other field, its time to give thought abt them and leave ganguly

just because I dislike Gangooly , it does not mean I dislike bengalis..I like Mohinder amarnath .He was a hero in Cricket and World cup mom hero.I like Dinda as well . and I dont want to tell this to sick people like u who generalise everything
He was a grate player but was not supported by colleague. He gracefully retired in spite of doing everything best for India. We were not right persons to evaluate him.
A lot of players have retired in last few years and all are great.. But its this man who the media still gives coverage till date... People who "HATE" ganguly may continue saying rubbish but this guy did significantly change the face of Indian cricket, the reason of which we see a powerful team today.. Of course the team is in safe hands with likes of Dhoni, Virat, Gambhir and etc which Ganguly also agrees.. Its high time that the people like him, Dravid, Kumble and Laxman should get more involved in Cricket Administration to make the sport even stronger in the country... No doubts these people have been greatest... The real torch bearers...

Well in his peak time he would have been a valuable T20 player...He has been one of the few players who had consistently cleared the ground and that too with fast bowlers.. He started playing the format when he already retired from International cricket... Ultimately basics of cricket are still the same in T20 so no prob in him giving any advice in T20.. If Ravi Shashtri can be critical about a ODI performance or even Sanjay Manjerekar... Then Saurav is way ahead...

he cleared the fence for spinners and I knew when he went up the crease it was definitely six..but not for fast bowlers !

Nobody steps out to hit fast bowlers for six if the bowlers are not Indians of the Pre-kapildev era and the batsmen were the dangerous WI of the late 70s .
