Tendulkar must undergo minor correction in technique
by Varadarajan Ravindran on Sep 10, 2012 05:36 AM

Accordinng to Martin Crowe, "Technically, Tendulkar's backfoot, and in particular his right heel, is planted to the ground. It is not moving with his frontfoot, it is arriving too late. His frontfoot moves and hovers forward as the ball is released, therefore both his feet point to the off side not straight to the ball, and then inadvertently he starts playing around his front foot and is either missing it or getting lbw. This technical flaw can be easily fixed or sorted out. He can get up onto his toes more and he can start to move his back foot fractionally up and down to get it activated. This will help him to start to move both feet when the ball is closing in.” This change or correction in technique will Help Tendulkar against pace bowlers and spinners as well. I disagree with Martin Crowe that at present he is a good player of spin. I have seen him beaten by too many spinners besides pace bowlers.

Tendulkar is quite good as a batsman
by Varadarajan Ravindran on Sep 10, 2012 05:11 AM

Sachin Tendulkar is quite good as a batsman, although some technical flaws have crept into his batting such as large bat and pad gap, high back lift, strokes across the line, and slight delay in foot work on the front foot as well as on the back foot. These flaws are minor and can be corrected easily. He does not have major flaws that Ponting and Lara cultivated over the years. Therefore, he will regain his form if he goes back to the drawing board and corrects these minor flaws. It must be noted that people like Raina and Strauu exhibited more serious technical flaws than Tendulkar in the recent games.

Many younger players are playing well. Sachin's contribution to the Indian Cricket is superb. He must voluntarily come to pave way for the youngsters. This will be good for him. Surely, the fans will salute him
