I salute your determination to fight all odds, but your inclusion in team should be on merit. You have not played even single Ranji trophy, deodhar trophy, dulip trophy not even club match this is injustice with other player. BCCI should open their eyes. BCCI SHOULD ALSO ASK GAMBHIR, SEHVAG, RAINA, TENDULKAR, ZAHEER KHAN TO PLAY DOMESTIC LEAGUE BEFORE THEIR SELECTION IN NATIONAL TEAM. BCCI SHOULD PERMANENTLY DROP PATHAN BROTHERS, MOHD KAIF, ROHIT SHARMA, BADRINATH, DINDA, MUNAF PATEL, LAXMI RATAN SHUKLA.

Simple question..
by Face Dude on Sep 06, 2012 09:47 AM  | Hide replies

Does any other non cricketing sportsperson in India get as much media coverage as this? Will someone ever cares for a national Hockey or Football or volleyball or any other sportsperson staying away from the game briefly and is willing to come back? Whats so special about Cricket. Unless this unabashed bias and partisan attitude of the media towards Cricket is corrected, nothing else has a chance in this country.

WHat on earth are you talking about? SOur grapes man! THis guy battled through pain and won the world cup for our country! And he hid his illness while doing so, when it was at a nascent stage. He is a hero and an icon not just for other cancer patients, but to people like me and countless others. There are a few minority like you who want to sound 'different' and perceived as 'cool'. And as for hockey, since you profess interest, can you name 5 hockey players from the national team? Do you even know any other footballer other than Chettri? Instead of blaming cricket, look at the mirror for the answers! And what about the hockey team which lost all the matches it played in olympics, even to minnows, despite the hype Cricketers fyi won the world cup, beating the likes of aus and pak, and were world no1 in tests. Get some perspective.

Nisha - Your very questions are the answers to my question. Can anyone name 5 national Hockey or football players who played in olympics of the hat? No, this is the bane of indian media patronizing just one sport all the time! I have nothing against Yuvi as you have mentioned, but just the attitude of the media thats got to change! Winning comes later, first show the motivation to play! So for Cricket, What about when India lost all eight test matches in a row in Eng and Australia just one year ago???

His guts and determination notwithstanding, there are very good players in the current Indian team, it may be difficult to get Yuvi a slot. Good luck Yuvi
