I had pointed out why so many lbws against visiting teams. Few said, just don't cast aspersions as umpires are not from us only and blah, blah, blah. I laid it to rest. But then again in this test also, they had five and we have none! Mind you, this I have been noticing for years since many here were not even born! I remember my friend's words - this is not good!

by Sunil Kothari on Sep 01, 2012 08:55 PM  | Hide replies

he is in denial stage, too many media interviews and saying I am enjoying game does not mean he deserves his position, interestingly several messages here on SRT< that says lot, people want to see his back for good and allow new guys to step in..May be he is afraid Kallis will break his record so he is stretching is his. He is playing on his reputation past record. If he was with Aussies he would have been dropped by now

Dear Sunil,
You are right. If he were an Australian he had 150tons, 40000runs and notonly SRT but Dravid too had 100tons, Sehwag,Ganguly,VVS had 75 because all these players had to play Indian bowling attack also :)

interesting conjecture. but dont you agree that they would have got a chance to face the indian bowling only if they remained in the team?? circular logic....

Time has come for Sachin to PACK UP the bags..He is done
by Sunil Kothari on Sep 01, 2012 08:47 PM  | Hide replies

The reflexes are not there, lack of confidence is visible, technique looks flaky. He is in denial stage and soon will reach ridicule stage. He is acting like a stubborn kid, getting bowled few times on an average bowling attack is sign age is catching up. Guys like Kohli and Pujara are telling him indirectly time has come to move on..sadly his BS on he is enjoying game does not mean he is fit for the job..He needs to be dropped and so is Sehwag..both are in denial stage scratching through innings..sadly selectors won't drop them, the need to retire with grace rather than getting ridiculed. Dravid was the smartest guy of all others I have seen, a serious crickter who knew his time has come. Sachin is acting like a kid..

agree with you fully. his interviews are more disgusting than his batting. his comments take the selectors out of the equation! 'no one can tell me what to do'. what does that mean? that even the selectors have no right to drop him?

i am actually enjoying tendulkar's troubles at the wicket. schadenfreude, i know. how many times have we seen him get bowled through the gate? and this wasnt even a 'terrific' delivery, as his supporters always claim. the guy has serious shortcomings and this has been evident for quite a while now.

Pathetic show
by chatter on Sep 01, 2012 08:24 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin was, generally, taken to the cleaners by the English bowlers (in England) and by the Assie bowlers (in Australia). He failed in the tests and in the one dayers there. He was a mediocre success against a weak West Indian attack at home last year. Now a very ordinary Kiwi attack is tying him in knots, again in India. He was not very successful in the Asia Cup in Bangladesh. In fact his record breaking 100th international century against Bangladesh cost us the match and a place in the final. Let us face it, he is 40 now. The once magnificent reflexes that once made people compare him to Sir Don are gone. They will never come back.

Sachin says that he will continue playing as long as he is enjoying it. The thing is if you are paid a crore rupees for five days work, and where you are not accountable, any one would continue to enjoy things. The thing is that the Indian public at large is not enjoying it any more. When will he realise this, when the crowds begin to boo his appearance .. or does he even care ? Or will he go out kicking and screaming like VVS Laxman just did ?

Dear Chatarpatar,
FYI SRT scored maximum runs on last 3tough oversees tours of SA, Eng and Aus. Also he was second highest rungetter in WC2011 among 100specialist batsmen. Just check stats of others also before posting rubbish ESSAYS :)

dear Dhoni, his performance in Eng and Aus were below par. if he scored the most runs, it doesnt mean all was well with his batting. in fact against england, he scored when there was just no pressure on him nor was there any interest in the match. and never looked fluent even when he did get those runs. Against Aus, he looked good in patches, I agree, but on the whole was a big let down. Especially in the tri series. so all the runs he made in those tours actually mask his failures. and you supporters use that very effectively to paint a rosy picture of his batting (as you have been doing for the past so many years, in fact).

Dear Fink,
I havnt wrote that he has been outstanding. He was the lone player to play well against Steyn n co. when all others peed in SA. As far as pressure is concerned it was due to SRT n Misra that we headed fourth test to comfortable draw in Eng., but once when he got out scoring 91, we lost a drawn match. Its easy to criticize him but what other batsmen have done on last 3 oversees tours :)

the series against SA was 2 years back. and in that series there were many good performers including laxman. so it wasnt as if everyone except sachin failed against steyn and co. as for your example against Eng, i can use against sachin the same logic you have used for him. so sachin did well with mishra to potentially avoid defeat. so did dravid in the earlier tests by scoring a century. but what did sachin do then? can we then say that dravid did everything he coud to avoid defeat by sachin and others let the team down?

Dear Fink,
So you think VVS was agood performer in SA. FYI VVs didnt score even 200runs in 6innings(Check stats). If this performance is good (acc. to you) then certainly SRT is still fabulous :)

sure i think VVS was a good performer. maybe he didnt get runs, but he was responsible for us winning the durban test with his 96 in the second innings and 38 in the first. the same test where SRT got a total of 19 runs in both innings put together. for me VVS was an equal hero in the series. but sadly, people like you say SRT was the best in that series.

Dear Fink,
We couldnt save first test because most of the batsmen failed other than SRT(36,111). We couldnt win third test bacause no one played well other than SRT n Gambhir in first innings and we couldnt put pressure on SA, also bowlers failed in second innings when SA was struggling losing 6 wickets else we ould have won series :)

Dear Fink,
No doubt VVS played well in second test but the real heroes were bowlers who bowled out SA on 130 and we got a good lead. Problem with people like you is that when SRT scores and others fail(TEAMWORK), you are not ready to accept his contribution. But when SRT fails and we win because of TEAM WORK (2ND TEST IN SA), SRT becomes the worst batsmen of the world :)

I dont know about you but I am proud of the fact that an INDIAN i.e SRT has achieved that milestone which noone has in 135years of cricket :)

i see. VVS played well, but real heroes were bowlers is it? how come it isnt 'team work' there? and when SRT bats well, it is only he who played well but 10 others failed? (your above post on the first and third tests that we drew). it is you who are using selective logic to prove your point.

Plz read again. We won second test because of teamwork specially bowlers but if these bowlers had played well in third test too, efforts of SRT and Gambhir would not have gone waste :)

right. and if SRT had failed in those tests, we would have lost 3-nil, wouldnt we? so your 'if' can be used both ways. and your statement is in direct contradiction with your team work logic. you seem to imply that SRT and gambhir were the ones responsible for us drawing the test, and the rest of the team, especially the bowlers let us down. what happened to team work??

@ M Dhoni!!! you are absolutely wrong!!! against england in england.. dravid was the highest scorer... 461 runs...!!! against australia in australia... virat kohli scored the most runs for india... 300 runs!!! only against SA sachin scored 326 runs in tests.. and that is almost 2 years as the test series started on 16 december 2010.

The second don failed to ward off even one defeat in ENG & AUS. Typical Sachin fanism "he is responsible for all victories and 10 others except him are responsible for all defeats" You guys are blind to fact that he was and will never will be a match winner or match saver
