If I were Sandeep Patil I would have sent a strong message to Dhoni and others that if they miss Ranji matches for trivial reasons of cough and cold then they shud be prepared to take a rest from 1-2 tests too.... disgusting to see such an attitude from Dhoni..shame that he is captain of test team... I think we should consider Parthiv patel for 1st test if he does well continue with him and if he fails badly only then bring back DHoni..for 2nd or 3rd test....
He is such wonderful and so fluent batsman, who happened to be in the prime form of his life. And so he doesn't need to play any local matches And he is way too good to play in Ranji trophy..

After the debacle in England and Australia, I told at that time-"All the players should play Ranji" if not they should not chosen for national squad- no matter how big he is or fit, period!

He is not the best player in the team. Everyone is utilizing the opportunity they got, but Mr. Dhoni is keeping himself ahead of the team needs.
