So many unnecessary matches
by Ganesh R on Oct 18, 2012 08:00 PM  | Hide replies

Why so many unnecessary unofficial matches on this tour itinerary ?

3 matches of 3 days each (totalling 9 days)
2 matches of 1 day each (totalling 2 days)

11 full days wasted on this tour.

Also 5 ODIs (we have to sit whole day and watch them play 100 overs.

Maybe ICC should look at slowly phasing off and removing the One-Day format and retain only 2 formats of the game

(1) The original, classical and real cricket i.e. TEST MATCH Cricket played in whites by the gentlemen with a red cherry on a green field. This format is enjoyed by even the Old and Senior people over a period of 5 days and shows a batsman's full range of strokes, bowler's full abilities to take wickets in any conditions and is a TRUE TEST of a CRICKETERs endurance, stamina and sheer skill to play 5 full days in all kinds of weather and on all pitches and grounds.

(2) The extreme and exciting version called T20 which is for the young and all alike. Its so exciting and its like watching a Hindi movie.. gets over in 3 hours and there is a result and amazing records and fast paced action every minute, dancing girsl, music and adrenaline rush. A cracker jacker of a contest in 3 hours. Wow !

So why have ODIs... boring full day nonsense.... 100 overs and its neither slow and classical like TEST nor fast and heart racing and thrilling like T20.

Don't waste 5 days on ODIs. Please dont have so many 3-day practice matches / warm ups.

3 Tests, 5 T20s and 2 warms ups is a nice tour.

Its Partial treatment from BCCI

You can observe that none of the south-indian venues are there in this. Are they not fans of Indian Cricket?

It will be raining cats and dogs in south at that point in time... no point keeping a match only to be washed out!!!

Kochi is in North India?? Or you dont consider Kochi to be in South India. Venue is selected on the rotation basis.. And BCCI head boss is a south Indian only..

Moronic schedule
by bigben bigben on Oct 18, 2012 06:47 PM

Neither Mohali nor Dharamsala will have any play due to fog. Stoopied BCCI should have scheduled it in somewhere south of Indore. No play will be possible anywhere north of that.

Good that there are 3 practice games for England.
Any team touring ind/eng/aus etc should have at least 3 practice games.
