IPL Concerns
by anil kumar on Oct 10, 2012 11:45 PM  | Hide replies

I totally agree mr vimalesh....every coin has two sides...nd i guess indian team is on the recieving side due to this...IPL was supposed to groom indian youth nd give new superstars, but till date leave alone superstars , we haven't even got a genuine fast bowler who can tear other teams apart out of this billion people country...its sad...rather it has diluted india's guile and secrets of spin and home conditions and made foreign players very accumstoned to india..that day is not far when india will be a frontier easy to conquer by visiting foreign teams.......

looks like you have been hiding in some cave, Fast bowlers who got into the Indian team using IPL umesh yadav, varun aaron, ashok dinda. There are atleast a dozen waiting in the wings. We have a host of batsmen to choose from now, our bench strength is enormous. The IPL is what shows the whites our strenghts. they wanted in on the pie, but they cant get in, so they employ stooges to float canards. If it was so bad why is every country trying to set up their own version. If England had the same they would make us grovel like the did in the 80's and 70's

Yes . They won the T20 world cup thanks to IPL. Most of these WI stars were ignored by their board till they performed in IPL.

But Mr. Anil because of the same IPL, our superstar and omnipotent captain Mr. Cool looking so ordinary and jaded as if don't want to play international cricket and he has been compelled coz of contract with the board to play for India.
I am saying one step ahead of Hooper that even the Central Contract will not be able to motivate a player to play for the nation. I think 'Real Cricket (Test Cricket)- Chin Music, Teraway Fast Bowling, Gutsy Batting is a thing of the past.....Flowers on Cricket's Grave from my side.

One thing

is sure. The hectic, long duration of the IPS exhauts the over-excited players, who then becomes unfit play for the national team.

Hooper must realize these are professional cricketers. Cricket is their livelihood. IPL being a cricket killer is a senseless argument. Its like saying the soccer premier leagues are killing soccer. Or NBA is killing basketball.

Just as IPL is a threat to Cricket, so is cricket a threat to all other sports in India. I hope cricket looses it's popularity games like soccer, hockey, athletics etc become popular with us.The Olympics make me cringe. Not a single gold this time.

IPL has turned Cricket into a circus with Indian and foreign players performing like caged animals in matches whose outcomes have been decided beforehand to favor owners and bookies!

Then don't watch it. No one is putting a gun to your head and making you watch it. There is a big audience for IPL and sorry you don't get to decide what's good and what's bad for others.

Actually I have to watch it.

I don't own the broadcasting or cable company!

If I did, I would not let anyone watch this nuisance!

I am forced to watch cricket during the time these matches are played as the cable operator, who I believe is working for the bookie who fixes the matches, refuses to show any other sports and broadcasts regional language programmes I don't understand!

Dude seek help! You are way too delusional to think that all cable operators in the country are "bought" by bookies! For starters watch those regional programs and broaden your entertainment portfolio.

Windies Board and its players earned money from IPL and also gained experience which made them win 20-20 WC. Hooper is thankless and bitter.

Hard work without experience is useless. Do you mean to say if afghanistan did the hard work they will win WC? Do you succeed by pushing walls ?

They were doing the hard work before too, but were failing on the world stage. All their premier players got world stage experience and confidence by playing in the IPL that is why they are successful.

Cricket.. one of the biggest threats to India's progress!

I realized this during the Olympics. Miniscule nations took all the glory fighting in sports, played by 150 to 180 countries.

We idle Indians have made cricket a religion which is seriously played by 6-7 countries!
