First congratulation . Also please ,I personally ,feel it is the worst form of Cricket . This game requires lot more brute power than skills .Asian countries Sri Lanka , India ,Bangladesh and Pakistan ,most of the players are not hugely built , so it is still surprising thy won twice this championship. It is not a game great to watch - you win test matches against countries like Australia ,SA and England in their den ,you can say you are not competing ,so hold you breath and perform well
If the performance on Sept 29 SL –WI SL beat WI by 9 Wkts is reckoned, WI are not the greatest of teams like India,Australia ,pak .South africa or New zea land-But sheer luck favoured them.If SL had won the task the result would have been just the reverse
wI deserves victory as they fought inch by inch to glory. They brought back their old glory of sobers hall Griffith Gibbs eye.... Hearty congrats n continue glory.
Great that the WI won the cup rather than SL. I fact it is always great watching the WI play because being naturally aggressive they are also the best sportsmen.Hope they continue to do well!

west indies won 1975 and 1979 world cups but their hat trick was challenged by kapil paji with help of sunil paji so when ever there is monopoly indians go and end monopoly again australia won 1999, 2003, 2007 world cups then came dhoni with help of yuvraj paji to challenge mighy cangaroos
In 1983 when Sobers lost the 50 overs WC to Kapil Dev no one would have even imagined WI would go into wilderness for over three decades before getting their hands on to any WC title.That way the current side has created history for which the whole team deserves credit although Chris Gayle's contribution has been unique in enabling the side reach the finals even if he didn't click in the finals While it is a good team effort but it is Gayle's “special” which instills confidence into the side believing in themselves.SL on the other hand would be terribly disappointed the way their batting collapsed even while their bowlers except Malinga did a wonderful job of restricting WI to a manageable total. Fault must lie with Mahela the way he didn’t plan the strike rate right from the start with rain forecast .The result was at the time of some light drizzle they found themselves napping with over 20runs short of DL rate. It was complete mayhem thereafter with those infamous reverse sweep, the SLans scampering all over the place for non-existent runs like headless chickens….going in for panick button.It showed very poorly on the character of a side having world class cricketers like Sangha,Mahela,Mathews…..Easily it must have been one of the worst ever performance by any side for that matter.

Mr.Damodaran well said. But it was not Sobers it was led by Llyod.Sri Lanka fail miserably due to their unprofessional attitude. And finally KUDOS to West Indian Team for their great team work and some special contribution by Gayle.

Well said Mr.Damodan but it was under captaincy of Mr.Llyod not Mr.Sobers. Sri Lankans choked in the final miserably due to their unprofessional attitude.Jayawardene & Sangakara must be responsible for their failure and also when Mathews show his potentiality!
