Shoaib said the event (IPL) is just "business and entertainment and not cricket". n just like business, everything is fair like fixing, adjustment, etc.
5 or 6 years ago, Spain is not considered a threat in football. People used to think about Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Italy, France, Netherlands. All credit goes to Spanish Premier League for making Spain the team to beat in soccer.
If a small country like Spain can have a Spanish Premier League with 20 teams competing 8 to 9 months in the year, a huge country like India can have an IPL with 9 or 10 teams competing for just 2 months. IPL ain't that bad. What IPL has done is that teams can think of chasing 300 plus scores in ODIs without panicking. IPL also gives peace of mind to young Indian cricketers who could not make it to the national team. Otherwise, they would be risking their careers for not being the top 11 to 15 players of India. Will see the benefits of IPL in the years to come.
If IPL is bad, so are NBA, NFL, EPL etc. All big leagues entertain the crowd and that's why the players are paid huge monies. IPL is an entertainer for sure.
Stop preaching like a saint, Mr. Akhtar. You should concentrate on publishing your autobiographies and making controversial statements none are interested in reading.
