The limited messages here is itself some sort of tribute to how non controversial an umpire he was. I think he showed a lot of sensitivity towards players from other cultures, had a really good eye, and also kept himself very fit....
Umpiring is one of the most thankful jobs in the game. Simon Taufel is one of best umpires in the game and I salute him for his hard work, dedication, sincerity and honesty towards his job.
It is tough just to imagine that this person will not be umpiring anymore in international matches.You had set a very high standard Taufel. Very high standard. If there is any one Australian who would be highly respected and regarded by one and all in Cricket, it is Taufel.We are proud of you Taufel. My best wishes to you for all success in your future and happy time with your family.
good that aus is knocked off. otherwise he could not have stood in finals. Simon is one of the finest and most respected . I can only see dicky bird comparing with him. we'll miss him. with best wishes to simon tauffel.

Simon will now train upcoming umpires hope the new ones coming will be as good as him. It helps as trust and respect between umpires and players are of utmost importance
