GOOD NEWS

there is a proverb in Hindi "Der aaye doorust aaye".I hope tendulkar will take this inevitable decision soon before he realises that he is no more a burden on the team. He is blocking the way of an aspiring younger who is the future of Indian cricket. Its better if he take this painful decision(for him) soon for the benefit of Indian cricket

Which planet r u living in? Sachin is perhaps the only quality batsman that can play SA and aussie quicks outside of India. Besides the gritty Kholi, there is not anyone to fill Dravid's place in tests. Get a life or learn a bit about cricket.

Hello,

Our Sachin retired from T20 on 2007 itself...During that time his age was 34 years 30 days...

But the same Brad Hogg retired from test and onedayers at the age of 37 years...

Are you saying Sachin and Brad Hogg are the same ? Sachin is once in a lifetime player. Hogg is an ordinary Hogg. They shld not be compared.

Agree with Chatterjee. When Hogg is fit and plays even T20 at 42, where is the need to retire one of the greatest batsman of all times from tests and ODIs?

sachin and old & cynical politicians
by raman govindan on Oct 05, 2012 07:29 PM

we know and he knows when his performance has deteriorated and the time for him to retire from top class active cricket.

but several top politicians even when they approach nearer to 80s, do not want to retire! take the cae of LK Advani and his ilks. their retirement will do wonder to the country!

he will not retire
by Mahendra on Oct 05, 2012 06:25 PM  | Hide replies

hardly any indian player has retired on their own volition...
No need to give any more time to sachin; he should be dropped with immediate effect as the presence of a 40 yr old is sickening in a dressing room that comprises mostly of 20-30 year olds...
no matter whoever he is, he is not bigger than the game.

HaHa ... you know it just as well as everyone else does, he will never, ever be dropped unless he himself opts out ..... just like he has never ever been dropped in his entire career till now.

Why???
by MeetFireWithFire on Oct 05, 2012 06:19 PM

Considering to what he says (I would only go with what my heart says...), why is he so concerned about positive or negative feedback.

Can anyone with a right mind use a product which is past the sell-by date? It could be a genius material, but resting on past laurels would only do harm to the stature.
It is up to fast bowlers around the world to end any career in their 39s. Fast 150Kmph to the chin may make anyone think about enjoying the bat again... It may not in happen in INDIA because of lack of bounce but surely will in Australia, South Africa, England, New Zealand and the West Indies.

Why is he still asessing?
by pradeep agarwal on Oct 05, 2012 06:13 PM

The writing is on wall for over 14 months since WC win.He has been reduced to a mere batsman in team by most ordinary bowlers in Australia,UK & now in India. He has never been a good thinker which was well exposed by his nail biting tenure as Captain & it will do his case good if this task is left to his self confessed guru Gavaskar.

Tendulkar assessing retirement plans is good news!
by karthini devi on Oct 05, 2012 06:03 PM  | Hide replies

But i will be disappointed if he scores century or half century against england.

Because he then again start his old dialouge, "Cricket is my passion" "I am still enjoying it" "Why should i retire when i am in top form" Bla Bla Bla and changes his mind suddenly...

So all indians fans need to pray for sachin not to score so many runs against england...

By saying this, i am not against sachin or india....I stil pray for india to win the series against england 4-0... I am praying V Kolhi,Raina and puraja will score lot of runs...Because these are the future....

I have lot of respect to sachin..by then he can't play for his full life..someone has to take over from him anyway.....

So you admit that he can still bat and it requires the prayers of whole India to fail him. Low thinking.
