Nobody Wants To Retire
by XBox on Oct 06, 2012 05:43 AM  | Hide replies

In life, nobody wants to retire, doesn't matter whichever field you are. After achieving lot, one point they want to retire but money/fame doesn't allow them to do.
If its a individual sports it would be easily noticed so they were pushed to retire whether its tennis or f1. But game like cricket, if team does OK, then you can continue play with the umbrella of team.
U see in politics, why can MMS retire, aged, earned, why cant go to some hill place and live peacefully at the end of life. Or why cant karunanidhi retire, what still left for him to achieve. All bz of money and fame.
Especially indians dont like the concept of retirement.

In life, not only ur living should be respectable, even ur death days also should be respectable. So people struggle in last 2-3 yrs of their death time. Very miserable. Some just sleep night and morning gone.

So my dear sachin, if not now, just score some 2-3 consecutive 100's in next series and even may win the series for india, and quit.

People will salute you. Dont drag to a day where selectors decide ur fate.

Sachin dear if u love the game so much why don't u retire and become an umpire ? that way u will still be able to spend time in the middle and also be seen on TV. That will make everyone happy

Ashok, u r absolutely right.. but i feel Third Umpire is best option as he won't have to stand in the Middle and also he could relax in AC room (mind u, he is gaining weight because of steroids etc..)

U see Ashok, u have no talent. Sachin is a world class bat. You cannot move ur big ask from couch to your TV. Sachin can run 10 kms and still can keep going. Now why wld he listen to you?

Play Tests
by Jay on Oct 05, 2012 11:33 PM  | Hide replies

I think we have reached a stage where we need to look at T20, ODI and Test as separate, with even separate captains. Sachin should quit ODIs and focus on domestic first class matches and Tests for 2-3 more years. And he should try to create the best years as he did in 2010. 2011 was very bad for all the seniors, I would say it is partly because of Dhoni's captaincy that their performance dipped very fast! No one can perform when he is given the feeling that captain is not even reachable for him.

Agree with the captaincy thing. T20:Kholi, ODI:Dhoni, Gambhir: Tests?
The next WCup dat india defends is in Australia and is just 2 yrs away. So, I am not too sure abt Sachin not playing ODIs. I thnk he shld keep himself fit & ready. Tests and first class a definite YES.

Dhoni as captain. There r deeper issues. Dhoni is still a good leader. But sreekanth & BCCI have spoilt him.
