Jokes can't make a team reach Semifinals
by Ganesh on Oct 03, 2012 12:39 PM  | Hide replies

Jokes we saw yesterday:

1) Rohit Sharma (a batsman) bowling an over, while specialist bowlers (Harbhajan, Umesh) are wearing yellow non-playing vests and sitting on the fence

2) Irfan Pathan made to bowl 3rd over in a row (despite hot, humid conditions for fast bowlers) and being tired in 3rd continuos over, he concedes many runs.

3) Allowing SAF players to take easy singles, not allowing them to take any risks at all. Applying no pressure whatsoever when we knew full well that the runs to defend were just 121 and not 152 to reach Semifinals.

4) Making a batsman Rohit Sharma bowl ahead of a bowler called Ashwin (that too a specialist spinner in your team). Even small child will raise an eyebrow at these ridiculously poor decision making which ensured 100% that Pak reached Semifinals.

5) Clearly Gambhir is low on confidence and struggling throughout the series. Yet we send him Opening as if he is the 'leading' runscorer in this world cup. Why can't he come 1 down instead and we opened the batting with say Virat and Sehwag ?

Our guys are only good for Ads. They give such 'passionate' expressions and their eyes are filled with fire and the winning spirit and all that blah blah...

Finally ho gaya na ! Joke decisions....don't know how they gave up the cause and surrendered meekly. So sad.

Why torture poor Harbhajan, he sttod by Dhoni, fought for him and now being made to sit out. What does one expect from a demoralised person?

Good points. That too when only 8 nations play this game. Imagine had 50 nations seriously played this, India would be no where to be seen like in football

"Irfan Pathan made to bowl 3rd over in a row (despite hot, humid conditions for fast bowlers) and being tired in 3rd continuos over, he concedes many runs...." The best joke I ever read. If a bowler can not bowl a third over continuously and that too at 8pm, he's not supposed to play at this level at all. Do not find excuses to protect your interests.

pathetic display of will power by indian team. Balaji, as usual, was most expensive. Sehwag, Gambhir, as usual proved, not dependable. Erratic and Arrogant shots paved their way out. Virat, no comments. Consolation, India won the match, though could not reach SF. Yuvi proved his selection right with his all round contribution.

Total let down by our Blue boys. The best thing to rein in their full potential, No one should approach them for endorsements atleast for a couple of years. Any how, their endorsed products, except Pepsi and Coke does not rain any money to any sponsors, as people are clever enough not to purchase these products as they are over charged due to crores paid to these boys. Yet, there are few, who earn through corrupt means, who are ready to purchase these products.

Indian Hockey faded in the blue and the cricket mania is slowly fading. In think, in near future, we will settle with Gilli and Goli.
