It can be seen all ipl stars rohit sharma, yusuf pathan, sehwag and so on will play heart out in ipl against the same international and at the same venues well but when it comes to world level tournaments they miserably fail as it can be evident in the past and present else will be out on injury. There is no future in indian cricket unless this ipl is banned in this country!!!!?? Let the players sweat for country rather than sweeting from ipl
I feel uncapped indian players should not be part of IPL teams, they should work hard to get into indian team then qualify for playing IPL, this will increase competition among uncapped indian players. At current situation, they are more happy to get selected for IPL n dont bother whteher they would play for indian team or not.
I think many people in this article has posted correctly saying that india should need youngsters who are performing at the domestic shorter formats and also in IPL in to the T20 national side . Few names immediately come to my mind..openers Murali Vijay and A.Rahane ; who are playing tremendous cricket in domestic leagues as well..middle order batsman robin utthapa is a good bet to play role of a pinch hitter..manoj tiwary should be m,oved out of the cushion of the bench..rohit sharma can be persisted with in the 15 ..yusuf pathan should be brought in teh team as well as t20 requires players with X factor..main area of concern is bowling where definitely we need more attacking wicket taking options to bundle out teams..see the teams which have stronger bowling units have more consistent record in t20..we need to bring in umesh yadav, varun aaron into the 15..piyush chawala i guess should be removed and rahul sharma brought in his place..harbhajan needs to be persisted with as he is an attacking option..wridhiman saha or naman ojha needs to be brought in the side..MSD i think should be removed from this squad as he doesnt find himself comfortable in hitting from first ball and is nowadays more comfortable in longer version of his game in 50 over format..sehwag and gambhir should be dropped..yuvi should b retained not bcoz of his batting at this moment but because of his value in being 5th bowler..dinda also should b there as he is wicket taker and zaheer asd he is experienc
Well i saw Virat captaining RCB last IPL for wuite a few games during crunch time when RCB had to win every match to reach the semi finals. What i liked was the fact that he really was very fast in manupulating his bowling attack and setting his field. He unlike dhoni it seems would never be levied penalty for not being able to finish the quota of overs for his team ..he looked in control with his bowling options and didnt allow the game to got drifted away in most of those matches except in one match against MI where rayudu and i guess pollard took away the game..I judge a captain purely by his ability to express confidence in his bowlers and ability to up his performance on the field...his batting also actually got better towards the latter stages of the tournament when he was captain of RCB ..But the best thing i found was his confidence in playing bowlers ..he played all the bowlers in the line up for RCB , who were bowling well in the nets and gave them a go..he backed them and they delivered for him..they batted poorly against Deccan chargers when virat tried holding the innings with a 42 , i recollect but got out when he was caught by daniel christian brilliantly at deep mid wicket boundary while trying to go for a six..and from there RCB panicked and lost the game by miles..captaining india is much difficult task but t20 is perhaps the easiest format so indian selectors can take the brave decision of appointing him as the captain of the side.bring utthapa,m.vijay, rahane

Sensible comments. Its high time, we promote Virat Kohli as a the T20 Captain, keep Dhoni as a the ODI captain till 2015 world cup atleast, and make Gambhir as the TEST captain. Now that Ashwin has more or less cemented his place in the side, he should be made Vice-Captain, as he is a thinking and an intelligent cricketer.
