Politics by Dhoni and selectors
by Coolsreez on Oct 04, 2012 01:54 AM  | Hide replies

If not for Rohit Sharma, other players would have got a chance and won the game for us...over and over again Rohit proved that he cannot perform in big stages and misfit for any format of game..talented players like Rahane, Dhawan and Manoj Tiwari are not getting any chances due to No-hit sharma...Dhoni is the main culprit for politics and favoritism of his own players. so Dhoni should be removed first for benefit of Indian cricket.

I agree with you regarding Rohit(Liked No-hit comment). But Dhoni is the best captain in the world.I think more than age importance should be given to form and fitness. For T20 we require 200 %fit players. If a player is not in form however big he is should not be selected. Our selection committee has to be tough like Aussies.Remember they dropped even Ricky Ponting for one dayers against India because of his form. Our selection committee has to learn.Don't get bogged down by big names and there past contribution.Live in the present.

Best captain in the world?? LOLZ, you are insulting greats like Steve Waugh, Clive Lloyd, Imran Khan, etc. Even Ranatunga and Ganguly are better captains than this fluke master.

we did'nt lose the semi final berth due to captaincy but due to very sloppy fielding. It only tells us that the guys have very heavy legs are unable to even move. Eg- balaji. Every time ball was hit to him an extra run was scored in the low scoring game. India needs specialist fielders and youngsters to bring in new blood.

btw kutty how can you call ''greats'' like steve waugh, lloyd, imran khan etc. as great or the best in the world? because according to your logic only, they had the best team thats why they won...for eg. if dhoni was the captain of the team that these captains had...he would also have given the same result...:)

I stopped reading your useless comments after your first sentence. This has been spoken umpteen number of times. So, I will not repeat myself like a parrot (i mean, like you).

But one thing, the other guys I mentioned as great never gave stupid excuses and ruined the match from a winning position or showed so much favoritism as Dhoni.
Playing 3 pacers against SA and giving the ball to Rohit Sharma when it was totally unnecessary have strengthened my belief.

And Yes, Dhoni is certainly a better captain than Ranatunga and Ganguly when it comes to giving the most foolish excuses.

You may have your view and write stories and accuse us of hatred, lack of brains, blah blah. But I am not at all interested in speaking with a fantard and a parrot like you who says the same old thing.

Correct. We havegiven many a chance to Rohit.
In spite of the fact that he is technically very good, India has missed many opportunities because of him.
Also, Srikant never use to look beyondChennai for replacements.
Now is the time, we give chance to others.
Regarding Captaincy, I believe it is time we try Gambhir who has shown promise of a good captain.

Right but havent we given enough chances to Sehwag, Gambhir right at the top and Raina in the middle order. I still could not understand why was Balaji in the that team.

Dhoni never played politics, but sehwag started attending Laxman party with SRT to make lobby against dhoni,Ask any aussie selectors or players ,sehwag and sachin t. would have been thrown out of national team 10 years back, because Aussies give importance to winning every match than personal records or passions?on natinal intersest, indian selctors must listen throw out non performing seniors like sehwag or sachin, not due to age?

Ashwin has flourished at the cost of Bhajji. He is no batter, restrict his role for bowling, runs may be bonus.Don't even remotely think of promoting him in batting.Don't forget team's SATYANASH due to Pathan sent as opener. Also spent forces like Balaji,Pathan recalled.Doesn't India have fresh talents like Umesh Yadav,Varun Aron, even Ishant Sharma,Ashok Dinda. Why persist with Zaheer,Balaji,Pathan?

Do you think that the Australian team consisting of Hussey and Watson is a young team ?? Or can the Sri Lankan team consisting of Jayawardhene, Sangakarra and Tilakratne be called a "young" team ??

Axe the openers, Zak and Rohit! let everyone not play everything.
by K Ram on Oct 03, 2012 11:41 PM  | Hide replies

Blame it on our batting; especially, the struggling openers. It's pathetic to see them struggling time and again. Viru and Gauti on current form do not deserve a place in any format of the game. Axe them first and replace them with Rahane, Vijay and Shikar Dawan. Give them a fair trial and enough chances to prove. Do not look beyond Irfan and Ashwin for an allrounder. They have proven beyond doubt that, they're very good and capable allrounders. Groom them well by showing enough faith and preservance. Zak must perform consistently to merit his stature as the leading strike bowler for India. Have 3 separate teams for the 3 formats of the game as this will enough chances for all the deserving players and will players from burnout due to over work. Please axe the openers and replace them with fresh young faces. please....

More than age current form and fitness is important
by mandar borwankar on Oct 03, 2012 11:29 PM  | Hide replies

If T20 is for youngsters below 30yrs old then Chris Gayle should not play for WI because he is 33yrs old. More than age a players form and fitness is important. Look at Chris Gayle doesn't he look fit.Infact he looks muscular and uses his power in T20. No one can say that he looks 30 going by his physique. It is very obvious that he has worked on his fitness over the years. Sehwag is nowhere compared to Gayle in terms of fitness. He looks very sluggish on the field and even in batting he hardly uses his feet. It is very obvious that he is not exercising daily to maintain his fitness. Same can be said of others also. Other cricketers are playing only on basis of reputation and they are not fit. Where are the batsmen who excelled in IPL and whey they were not given chance.

Is 33 old? Ask Sachin Tendulkar who until recently played all formats of cricket well past the age of 30. I agree that lack of proper physical training is the cause. Whatever happened to the Physios? Who is supervising the team's physical exercises. I recall Kapil Dev saying that regular fitness and right food should be eaten to maintain the body from constant injuries which is prevalent as far Sehwag and Zaheer are concerned.
