even if he is not , who is bothered? a person who does not do justice to the duty for the country playing in the nation's colors,no one should be bothered about such a person what he does in IPL or Champions league which are all for the personal glory and money.Only he should be bothered and not the country. Rediff, please dont give undue importance to such things . Yes, if ti was for the indian team it is a different matter.

TOO MUCH CRICKET
by vinu thomas on Oct 03, 2012 07:25 PM

LOOKS LIKE THESE PLAYERS ARE PLAYING 365 DAYS A YEAR.... ALL MONEY HUNGRY , LOOK HOW TIRED THEY LOOK .
ZAHEER COULD OPT OUT AND PLAY JUST TESTS BUT THEN WHEN YOU SEE SO MUCH MONEY WHY MOVE?
HE SHOULD BE ASKED TO MOVE ON AS THESE PLAYERS WHO ARE SO USED TO THE MONEY AND LIFESTYLE WILL NEVR RETIRE.
IT TOOK INDIA TO BE DEMOLISHED IN ENG AND AUSTR AND STILL NO ONE WAS AXED FINALLY LAXMAN QUIT .
SACHIN SHOULD ALSO RETHINK WHAT HE NEEDS TO DO.
SEHWAG NEEDS TO GO BACK TO DOMESTIC CRICKET AND LEARN TO BAT LONGER ,HE IS A TAMASHA MAN NOW FAILING MISERABLY OVERSEAS AND ONCE IN A BLUE PERFORMANCE OTHERWISE.
GAMBHIR ALSO IS HAVING A BAD PATCH FOR SO LONG WHEN WE HAVE SO MANY RESERVES WHY NOT TRY THEM ANYWAY WHICH WAY WE ARE LOSING.
AND SELECTORS AND ZONAL COACHES WHO GET PAID FAT SALARIES DO YOUR JOB AND GET SOME WICKET TAKING BOWLERS WHO DONT BREAK DOWN AFTER TEST.

Sack him
by Prasad on Oct 03, 2012 04:26 PM  | Hide replies

Sack Sehwag. He is an old hag. Also Gambhir, Zaheer and Bhajji too must be given the boot. The Captaincy must be handed over to Kohli, who has shown great spirit and Dhoni should be asked to open or get out of the team. We do not need a captain who is unwilling to take responsibility.

Dhoni's personal rivalry
by Bharat on Oct 03, 2012 03:23 PM  | Hide replies

"Sehwag, who had a poor World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka [ Images ], scoring only 54 runs in three innings at a strike rate of 112,"

unjustified comment

Giving dictatorship to Dhoni, both BCCI and Selection Committee were dead during each game selection.

Dhoni humbled the seniour player like Sehwag by keeping him to warm the benches. Due to all round pressure Sehwag was called for PAK and SA matches. How can he perform straight away?
Is he a machine?

Viru averages 25 in tests and 21 in ODIs (excluding the 200 against WI) and about 12 in T20s since the WC 2011. Other than the 200 against WI, he has not done anything noteworthy in the last 18 months. Was it all due to Dhoni? More importantly, it is not about form, it is about the way he has been throwing his wicket away carelessly time after time

Well, it could be because of Dhoni also. Do not look at Sehwag, Gambhir failure in isolation. There could be something to do with team environment.

WATSON,WARNER AND BAILEY ARE NOT WELCOME IN IPL
by damodaran mohan on Oct 03, 2012 02:46 PM  | Hide replies

The Australian players like Shane Watson,David warner and Bailey are regulars in IPL fixutres and they always get red carpet welcome in this cou7ntry.But after India had to exit the way Aussies lost to Pakistan , these players should not be welcome here any more in IPL.

Why blame the Australians when our over-fed players are so casual. Shewag, Gambhir, Zaheer and Rohit should be sacked forthwith from the team. The captaincy should be handed over to Kohli, who is the only guy who has shown spirit. Don Dhoni should be asked to open the innings or get sacked. He cannot hide at No 6 and make excuses for continuous losses. No point carrying deadwood.

Ashwin axe effect
by sudeep poonoth on Oct 03, 2012 02:46 PM  | Hide replies

I believe since Ashwin has been designated as lead spinner after 2011 ODI WC, we haven't reached any tournament final..CB series, Asia Cup and now this T20 WC. Even in 2011 ODI WC he played only 2 matches, so we won it. He maybe lucky for CSK, but not for India.

stop talking about such mundane and archaic beliefs . He has shown that he is a spinner with potential and an asset to the team and is defenitely a captain or vice captain material with a sensible and intelligent head on his shoulders who can be moulded to lead the country , if we want to protect today's gem of our cricket Kohli from over stress toconcentrate on his performance .

BAN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
by Panki on Oct 03, 2012 02:20 PM

Just ban this useless Champions league.. it serves no purpose other than milking money for BCCI by selling TV rights.. every year they change the rules, format of this league so that more and more IPL teams can participate.. crazy...no one is interested in this champions league other than BCCI and our superstar cricket players...
