Pietersen is like Australia without Watson. Teams have to pay the price for ignoring quality players

either india or pak can go thru the semi final but not both..since Australia is certain to play WI unless any heavy defeat by pak in last super-8. india on the other hand needs to win handsomely against SAF which is highly unlikely . so chances are for India & pak is not that great..it could be SAF & AUS in semi or Aus & Pak not india whose runrate is very poor.

sri lankans are smart

since Mahela was already fined once for slow over rate, Sanga came for the toss and thereby was the official captain for the match.A repeat of slow over rate could only fine Sanga and Mahela will escape the one match ban. Wonderful smart thinking by their team management.

It was cheating of the highest order by Lankans.
If India or australia does the same Tony Greig the Lanakan ambassdor will question the move but not when Lankan does it

instead of calling the Lankans as cheats, wiser to say Lankans are smarter than ICC.Anything within the rules can't be labelled as cheating.

THere is should be a rule that irrespective of whoever comes for toss, captain remains the same (Mahela) as long as he is in the XI. So another slow overrate can affect only Mahela. If Lanka are so scared they should have rested Mahela.

Absolutely.
Remember in icc 2011 wc finals MSD was cheated by Sanga at toss and toss was redone.
Michael Vaughan was on bbc and he heard correctly and said that msd won the first toss.
Vaughan had said the same about sanga then

Yes,ICC should be clear and say that a team can have a new captain only when the original captain is unfit and DOES NOT play.

street smart sri lankans
by Priyarani on Oct 02, 2012 07:20 AM

since Mahela was fined once for slow over rate, a repeat would have banned him for one match. The SL team were smart enough to hoodwink ICC and Sanga came out for the toss and thereby the official captain for the match. A slow over rate could only give a fine to Sanga and not Mahela. This is what you call out of the box thinking.

After the 4-0 whitewash of India, people were proclaiming England team as the next best thing that happened to mankind since discovery of fire.
Their weaknesses still remain in subcontinent conditions.
