Rohit Sharma and Tiwari deserve a break...
by Nikhil Shah on Dec 01, 2012 05:56 AM  | Hide replies

Currently, FC domestic averages of Kohli and Yuvraj is 50 and 44.81 respectively. Regardless of that the success mainly depends on the top 4 in Tests. Along with Dhoni, they can capitalize on a tired bowling attack.

With Rohit's better technique against Spinners and Tiwari the accumulator with both averaging close to 59, it was unfair for the selectors to keep them out.

Though Tiwari ran out of luck earlier with a shoulder injury, the recent Test matches against WI and NZ were a good opportunity even in the presence of Laxman and Dravid.

I think, at least for the 4th Test against England, both Rohit and Tiwari should come in for Raina and Yuvraj.

even after crossing the age of 25 they are not sure of their place in national xi simply because they are not as lucky as some airbag who was lucky enough to gain entry @16 & is luckt to be playing @40. These players will announce thier retirement in frustration.

Very correct, Vinay Kumar/Dodda Ganesh/David Jhonson were very talented and commited. That explains why they played for so long and were so successful

100% true. Prasath was bowling and ball was spinned. That is his power. Prasath was also bowled slow than Kumble more spin.

i too want youngsters to play in the indian team. but am sorry to say that, like yuvraj and raina, tiwary also don't have the technique to survive in the test arena. He is a brilliant fielder and a good odi player. But in test matches one needs good footwork and technique to meet the gruesome challenge. Temperament is also important. That's where rohit sharma fails miserably. If we look at dravid, the most perfrect indian test player, he has the technique as well as temperament. Thats how he became a success in the longer version of the game.

Its high time rahane, gets to hold the opener's position in the indian test team. Both sehwag as well as gambhir needs to make way. Rahane should get the chance sooner rather than later
