True. Kapil - one the greatest in Indian Cricket was left out as a nobody till he apoloized and came back. So others would be very careful in not antagonizing the BCCI

Dashing captains
by manoj on Dec 01, 2012 05:13 PM  | Hide replies

Here are some examples of dashing captains Mark Taylor, Steve Waugh, Ponging, Cronje, present captain of SA Smith, Ranatinga, Jaisuriya, they are known for their attitude. Sachin once offered captain and refused to lead the team. He was knowing captaining the team means burdening extra pressure on shoulder. Ganguly was better player and match winner. Sachin is a good player but cannot be said a match winner. When the was in need of his strokes he always dissappointed the team as well as the country.

Now he should say bye to cricket.

your discovery that Ganguly is a better player even Ganguli will be shocked..Ganguly cannot play genine pace as everyone knows, he runs away after seeing the green top...Sachin is like that, he fights in any surface..and an alrounder..YES as captian Saurave is far better, he is a fighter all the way, but as a player Sachin is miles ahead.

I agree with your thought that Sachin is mile ahead of Ganguly in batting, but the fact remain that Sachin is as good as Harbhajansingh in batting now..

manoj , pls do not talk ill of a patriot Sachin. He will not quit as the country needs him more today. That he is not able to get in to double digits is entirely different . for that bowlers , fielders & umpires & other conspirators are to be blamed. he is the best batsman in the world.

We should not suggest that India is totally or partially dependent on Sachin... this reason is more than enough for him to retire - if he really thinks good for the country!!

Sachin....should retire
by manoj on Dec 01, 2012 05:00 PM  | Hide replies

Its just a question to Anil Kumble. No doubt Sachin is a good player. If any one given a lots of opportunity definitely he will score. But since 2011 word cup he is consistently scoring low scores. Yes every one knows he will score a century or half century to keep speechless. Its not a way to carry on playing cricket. Every one should know that there are hundred talented players waiting, give them a chance and prepare for the next world cup. Why you rely on someone who is just doing nothing for the country. If the trend continues definitely he will loose the name and fame he earned would be ruined.

Get some reality checks, folks!Ponting is nobody compared to our legend Sachin for thesimple reason that Sachin had to face the fiery bowling of aussies and other countries too and still score 100 centuries! while Ponting or
Bradman had the privilege and good lcuk of NOT facing the fiery aussie
pace attack and they had the added luxury of facing indian bowlers and
score centuries as they want! Further all the umpires were very kind to
all white skinned players and very cruel with Sachin and coloured
players and so many times Sachin has been given out wrongly ba bad
umpiring decisions too! Hope all world and cricket fans will realize now why Sachin is greater than Bradman and Ponting and Others!

Mirchi,
Good points and I agree but Sachin is seriously hurting his legacy now by delaying his retirement..

Kumble !!!!

So there he is , dishing out his piece of rubbish.... wat was his record outside india ? In indian pitches he was good but only on helpful picthes, in one days he was smacked by jaysurya, desilva , jaywardene, anwar , ijaz , inzamam to all parts of the ground. Its not strange tat his one day end came hurriedly after we lost to bangla in wc 2007 and crashed out of super 8s ... Any game has a shelf life and no one is above the game ...performance alone should merit selection...age doesnt spare anyone ....in any game...the reflexes slow down ...and you are never the same... look at Federer for an example...once unbeatable...today he is so vulnerable.... Look how plainly ponting put it... " i wasnt good enough to make runs as per wat an aussie player needs to perform , and tats y i decided that my time was up " tats plain and simple...from a man not lesser than tendulkar(in my books a bigger match winner & big match player than tendulkar)always took the rsponsibilty of captaincy ...and batted along with it...not like sachin...shying away from captaincy ....afraid of loosing his batting...!! Its plain and simple...he has to go and will go.... he cant be in rajya sabha and open restaurants and have businesses and keep playing on and on and deny worthy youngsters like rahane and 100s of others who are working practising more than him...!!

2007-08 after he quit cptaincy in australia , dhoni changed the fortunes for india .Kumble is another airbag who thrived in conducive home conditions.
on sachin - he relenquished the captaincy ,. nobody snatched it from him. why , to focus on personal achievements.

He has been a mediocre cricketer who let india down in crunch situation like other cricketers. if he was above them he would have been a game changer.
