All those who praise him to the skies are ok. But let that praise be for past performance. Why are they leaving his retirement to Sachin himself? Does this mean that Selectors are irrelevant, potential is irrelevant?

I disagree...I want him to retire because of his form not because he is playing for records...remembers if he plays well he should deserve a spot...doesnt matter how old he is. But since he is not..he should retire or play local cricket to earn a spot.
Let the whole world resign. It does not mean that Sachin also should resign. He has his own dignity. I suggest, let him not retire officially and also let him not play cricket. By this way, he can create one more record of not-retired cricketer of the world!!!
Shame that indian media and some vested interests are doing the sachin-bashing for helping some vested interests! Shame Indians are so good in pulling down their own heroes and legends and a player like Sachin comes only once in 500 years,perhaps???Get some reality checks,folks!Ponting is nobody compared to our legend Sachin for the simple reason that Sachin had to face the fiery bowling of aussies and other countries too and still score 100 centuries! while Ponting or Bradman had the privilege and good lcuk of NOT facing the fiery aussie pace attack and they had the added luxury of facing indian bowlers and score centuries as they want! Further all the umpires were very kind to all white skinned players and very cruel with Sachin and coloured players and so many times Sachin has been given out wrongly ba bad umpiring decisions too! Hope all world and cricket fans will realize now why Sachin is greater than Bradman and Ponting and Others!

500 years are over. Let a new young Sachin come to light. Retiring is not an insult for a player but sacking is. Let him retire with honour.
