may be aus will win and become no 1 ...so that it will be ponting who will be responsible for aus becomeing no. 1 again...
it is not important whether ponting suceeds or fails probably with his batting he will make aus no. 1 again...irrespective whether he fails or suceeds as a batsman in this test...

May be you are right but he believes that one should not leave when he is on the top .Many believe one must leave when at the top .so best is not to go.
