for what purpose ?

is sachin needed in the team, just to be one of the 11 members ?? there are plenty of aspiring cricketers in India to fill that place. No need of giving reservation for this legacy Mumbaikar, who has enough over enough. we need performance, not by history.

sachin's retirement
by Jayan Joseph on Nov 29, 2012 01:53 PM

sachin may have few goals more. may be he is aiming to complete 25 years in cricket life. so he needs another 2 years more. but for that sachin, you should be more accurate

Common Dravid!

No need to be so good and protective about Sachin. If you retired gracefully then so can Sachin! No one is needed forever.

bestest of the best should be given a finite number of chances to keep his place. We Indians tend to be too emotional in the game

Revamp the Team
by Santosh Ghirnikar on Nov 29, 2012 04:53 AM

After 9 losses out of 10, it is clear to anyone with half a brain that serious cleaning of the deadwood is required. Dravid and VVS retired gracefully and the void left by them will hopefully be filled by Pujara and Kohli. But SRT, Bhajji and Zak are hanging on in quiet desperation. They need to be booted out along with Duncan Fletcher. Initially the new team may lose quite a few games - some even badly. How is that different from what we are experiencing now? Time for a new captain also. Dhoni is like an obstinate child who sticks to his failed tactics and spouts the same cliched and illogical statements and excuses. So he has again asked for a turning track in Kolkata. Wow! I can hear Panesar and Swann rolling on floor with laughter.

Dravid Defends Tendulkar
by Santosh Ghirnikar on Nov 29, 2012 04:43 AM  | Hide replies

I have the greatest respect for Rahul Dravid. In my book he is greater than SRT because he always delivered for India when it was most needed. I don't know why SRT has generally failed when we needed him to fire. Therefore, I am baffled that Dravid thinks SRT is now needed more than ever. Why? SRT is NOT the future of Indian cricket. A couple of awesome straight drives doesn't mean he has gone back in time and recaptured his greatness. The time has come to blood someone new. Yes, it will be a baptism by fire and yes the guy will fail for sometime, but eventually he will come good. We will need to be patient. Another way to look at it is, even though the new kid might fail for sometime, it does not matter because SRT himself is failing miserably. At least the new kid will earn invaluable experience.
