dhoni is not cool
by Kalpak chandra on Nov 29, 2012 10:17 AM

he is totally cold . He cant bat well nor keep the wickets well. He just need to become a curator. He is really taking the image of indian cricket by declaring that indians can play and win only on wickets that suits spinners. Such captain should be removed immediately

HarpER!!
by Sudarsan on Nov 29, 2012 12:01 AM  | Hide replies

This guy just harps! One of the worst umpires in cricket who has built a reputation just based on controversies... Wasn't this guy that gave Sachin LBW when he was hit on his shoulder?

The same Dhoni recalled Ian Bell who was clearly out by the law, in that test match in England where we were blanked 4-0. Bairstow walked, and even Gambhir said that it all happened in a flash that they did not know if the ball had really touched the grille of the helmet. So Dhoni was confused and that led him not to withdraw the appeal. Dhoni has every right to throw sarcasm at umpires outside the game. The press conference is outside of the game and he has every right to talk whatever he wants. There have been so many instances in the past of people targeting umpires for poor decisions. This Harper guy wants to rake up a controversy to keep himself in the limelight...

ONE OF THE BY-LAW for LBW

the ball not having previously touched his bat, the striker intercepts the ball, either
full pitch or after pitching, with any part of his person.

So the shoulder incident no value here

all this is a result of india not accepting DRS when the entire cricket playing world in keen on it. with DRS, at least 90% of the mistakes can be eliminated. I blame Anil Kumble for this. he was captain when india toured srilanka in 2008 and lost badly. he was unimaginative in his use of DRS and ended up blaming it for the loss. sachin tendulkar also opposed it since he was given out by DRS on a couple of occasions when it was very clearly out. but still he acted as if DRS was at fault. this set in a mindset where the rest of the team, including and BCCI all became reluctant to use DRS...now we see the impact. ridiculed by all cricketing players, nations, umpires etc. i blame kumble for starting this phase where india is being seen as bullies in the cricketing world. he was captain during the infamous 2008 tour of AUS. before the sydney test, kumble and ponting clearly had a agreement that it would be the word of the fielder when it came to close catches. despite that, kumble complained and stated 'only one team was playing in the spirit of the game' and in addition, the harbhajan-symonds issue cropped up and india threatened to abandon the tour, replace umpires etc. yes, the umpiring was very poor and against india, but kumble being captain could have ensured that we took it in stride and go onto the next test. but he reacted and that was the srat of the bullying by indian cricket that continues til today. so i blame kumble for for all this india criticism.

It is incorrect on your part to blame Kumble for DRS.
He is the ba---d who could have sidelined Dhoni by using Karthik Properly.
As the Ba-----d don't want TN players ie Badri,Murali & Karthik, Dhoni was reinstated .
He paid the prize for the same sin.
The Aussies are ugly under the captaincy of Ponting & no 1 liers. You are a typical Indian who will lick the feet of Whites.
If Dhoni is so upright why this bassstard want turning track & avoided UDRS so stubbornly.

Indian slavish media just give publicity to what all nonsense these crooks shout too!Get lost Harper, BCCI must replace paki umpire aleem dar and britihs umpire tony hill for
the kolata and other test macth too since they were playing for the
brits with biased decisions in their favour and those decisions made india lose the match too! Whether the umpires received money for their favours is not known, but possible and umpires must lose their match
fees if they make wrong decisions or all decisions must be ratifie by a third or fourth umpire in future to avoid match fixing, etc, shame mumabutest macth was fixed since the british team were playing with 13 players, what a shame!

Shows his frustration after kicked out of active cricket due to incompetent umpiring and controversies. Dhoni is at times arrogant too. But he is owning cricket to decide all conditions. He just gives opinion which some people put lot of attention.

As far as success or rags to riches stories go, MSD's life saga should rank among the top in India if not the world!

Starting out as a tribal boy growing in the wilderness of Jharkhand wearing nothing but foliage as groin cover to reaching the upper echelons of Indian Cricket is no small achievement.

MSD has had a meteoric yet hurdle-ridden rise to his current place in the stratosphere. He had to first learn how to live in the civilized world as a human who follows all the written and unwritten laws of public decency. For a child of the wild who never wore anything but minimalistic foliage to cover his groin area (lest the rest of the inhabitants of the animal kingdom mistake his hanging appendage as food), developing a habit to cover a majority of his anatomy must have been a major challenge in the early days of his brush with civilization. The next challenge was interacting with other humans in a manner far different from how he dealt with his brethren in the animal kingdom. His early behavior of snatching all glittering objects or anything that remotely resembled food was welcomed with complete scorn in our society. Today, the ease with which MSD hobnobs with elite sports personalities from all over the world glosses over his past difficulties with simple human communication. Next challenge was to wield the bat and not use it bludgeon others around him for food when he was hungry!

continued...........

MSD’s recent performance may not be one of his best but we as ones who had the good fortune of being brought up as regular human beings should cut him some slack.

Does anyone of us know anybody other than MSD who has overcome such formidable challenges and achieved such greatness? Definitely No!

So let MSD be! He means no harm. One day, after all the fanfare has subsided, he will quietly return to his beloved wilderness and we will miss this civilized jungle boy who has entertained us so many times!

Mr. Mark Twain (or whoever you are), this tribal boy has done something that would aspire the unprivileged to dream about something they would never dare to in the past. Regarding your knowledge of covering groin with foliage and your general "jungle" knowledge, it is better you keep your thoughts to yourself. Pls. visit the tribal belt of Bihar and Jharkhand and you will feel ashamed of yourself for making such vulgar comments about the tribal society in general. It is for grand personalities like you that the term "racist" has been invented. All the best for your future researches.
