Ashwin

Ashwin needs to go given that he could not turn the ball even to trouble the English tailenders. So does Harbhajan.
The decisions of the umpire in the second test leave a lot to be desired particularly the LBW appeal against both Cook and Pietersen. They seemed very partisan. The spectators in Eden also need to put pressure on the umpires if they are making biased decisions.

How did India reach No 1 Test ranking?

Dhoni needs to understand the process and the historical build up that started even before he was in the Indian team.

It was the change that Ganguly has enforced. The virtual elimination of Zaheer and Yadav from the current English tour has been a major factor. Both Zaheer and Yadav took 7 seven wickets combined in the first Test even though they were not allowed to complete their respective spells.

As far as the Indian batting is concerned, Kohli and Yuvraj cannot play Tests in the sub-continent and don't have the ability to build a Test innings.

Regardless of what happens, India need to incorporate Rohit Sharma and Tiwari for Yuvraj and Kohli. Since the Squad is unchanged for the 3rd Test that is unlikely to happen. The batting lineup should look like:

Gambhir Shewag Pujara SRT Sharma Tiwari Dhoni

The bowling attack has problems. From the current side,

Zaheer Ishant Ashwin and Ohja

This attack cannot take 20 wickets at a good strike rate.

The best genuine off-spinner in the country in the mold of Pras and Murali is Mohnish Parmar, his domestic average is 92 wickets at 18.42.

Best of his line and length theory Mishra was discontinued by Dhoni. Same goes with Varun Aaron, and the both Dhoni and the selectors failed to infuse them for the NZ and WI tours to India.

The bowling attack should based on Strike rate and not on line and length.

Zaheer Yadav Mishra Monish Parmar.

If they want to look at the future:

Aaron Yadav Mishra Monish Parmar

I agree that Dhoni's captaincy leaves a lot to be desired particularly on decisions such as having three spinners and the constant backing of Sehwag, Virat and Yuvraj. All three need to be sacked. Virat should know now that he is not suited to the longer format of the game. His attitude is another issue with the idea of future captaincy of the Indian team seems to have gone into his head without having realized that it takes years to become a great cricketer before even dreaming of becoming the Captain. Sack this idiot.

First sack Dhoni from team. He says our spinners bowled short. What was he doing? On the other hand the other captains speak often to their bowlers and change strategies. Sehwag must be allowed to bat at No.4 or 5. Rahane may open with Gambhir. Bring in Tiwary Rohit into the team.
