we will be in this flux - because the greats have all become less reliable last year - dravid/ laxman / sachin all have lost form. 2 decided to quit while it was getting bad, one is hanging around still. sachin's time is up. mentally he maybe 16, but physically he's according to his age. slow feet movement. the reading is on the wall. the wall read it when it was on his, sachin has to follow sooner to avoid going the kapil way.

Too Early
by Shreyas Shukla on Nov 24, 2012 11:50 PM  | Hide replies

It is too early to consider Pujara as new wall or Rahul Dravid. Jammy was technically compact with his impenetrable defense and has scored runs both outside and inside India. Even Sachin has done that too early to compare. Not even Ganguly could succeed at test level outside the sub-continent apart from his innings at brisbane test in 2003 i cannot recollect anything extra ordinary on bouncy tracks at test level. Even our captain Dhoni has to prove himself at test level outside sub-continent. You can see Dhoni is not a confident test batsman because at one-day level whenever we lose early wickets dhoni promotes himself and takes control of the situation where as at test level he has never done it that shows his confidence as a test batsman. Anyway he is the best captain we have and the most cool. I love his captaincy. I would be happy atleast if he when comes down the order and play a gilly innings. As far as pujara is concerned magnificent effort but all this counts when we score runs or take wickets in the enemy camps with the pitches they offer to us. We saw how badly we lost the two series even with like of Sachin Lakshman and Dravid in the team. So please i request pujara to stay level headed and keep on doing the good work and BCCI pls atleast have one pitch in India which has foreign conditions so that our players atleast get accustomed to it.

see pls if you follow a sport do not insult others. Every sport has it's own charm. If you love cricket pure cricket you will definately love test cricket where a batsman plays an extraordinary cover drive or a bowler breaks the defenses of a techinically sound batsman. Every sport has it's own charm. Same applies to movies. You may love some other sport or other some different genre of movies. but our outward appearance is same taste differs. Some like sour, some spicy, some sweet and some crazy. So do not thrust you opinion on others instead try to look from their point of view

Ganguly outside the subcontinent? Do you remember his 2 hundreds in his first 2 test matches in England at The Lords and TrentBridge ? Do you remember his 99 and 128 against England in England in the 2nd and 3rd test match in 2002 ? Do you remember that he was the highest run-getter for India in the 2006 series against SA in SA, scoring more runs than Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman and Sehwag ? Do you remember that he was the 2nd highest run-getter for India in the 2007 series again England again scoring more runs that Tendulkar, Dravid and Laxman ? Quite a few more examples of Ganguly's good performances outside the subcontinent can also be listed out.

fully agree with your views...also he has played quite well in the 2000 series against SA in SA..and I believ it's too early to compare pujara with rahul as the latter has proved his credibility in SA,Australia and England the ultimater litmus test for any batsman from the subcontinent.Pujara is yet to face that test.
