How many century makers will last one over in Austalia or England or SA . These are dead pitches and the English bowlers or batsmen have no experience in playing in such pitches - so do not read too much in all these scores .

It is on-field umpires who determine the outcome of the match, what a shame!BCCI must replace paki umpire aleem dar and britihs umpire tony hill for the kolata and other test macth too since they were playing for the brits with biased decisions in their favour and those decisions made india lose the match too! Whether the umpires received money for their favours is not known, but possible and umpires must lose their match fees if they make wrong decisions or all decisions must be ratifie by a third or fourth umpire in future to avoid match fixing, etc, shame mumabu test macth was fixed since the british team were playing with 13 players, what a shame!
With FC averages above 55 the middle order heavy weights are still waiting for Tests where else Yuvraj, Raini and Kohli who have FC averages in the 40-50 range are already in!
The exclusion of Rohit, Manoj and Rahane from the WI and NZ tours to India seems to now have delayed the grooming of these brilliant and talented youngsters for Tests.
Sehwag is already 34-35 and like to play IPL over the Tests. Sachin is already 37 and we dont know how Raina, Yuvraj and Kohli are going to fare in Tests. They are barely able to hold their averages 40.
Yuvraj struggles against spin and Kohli still has not firmly planted his feet in Test yet. I doubt he can raise his average above 40 for long.
With that, at least middle order youngsters like Manoj, Rohit and Rahane can fill in.

The test match was fully controlled by Bowlers. Not by batsman. Then why pujara got the man of the match, instead of Ojha. Ojha is the real hero of the match. i think this is clearly politcs by team india and bcci

agree. but in ind or rather anywhere batsman always get the limelight. even bowlers shud get the weightage they deserve. however, pujara was also the main pillar of ind's score remaning unconquerred.

Arun, I do not agree with you. Bowlers also get importance and MOM, but here, the stage for winning the game was set by Pujara. If India did not score above 500, then Indian bowler never got chance to bowl the way the bowled. Because when you have to defend smaller target you never dare to give more flight or you can not bowl with the freedom as our spinner bowled. Take the Harbhajan's case, when he took more than 10 wickets against Aus in past and he got MOM.

Batting sets the target... Bowlers need to defend it.. Plain and simple...
His idea was plain and simple. In the last innings of a match, make the most of the ball when it is hard and new, because you never know what tricks the pitch can play once it gets old. That was his thinking in the test against Australia where he scored at a fair clip, and so it is now.
Gavaskar would be better off trying to find why Sachin's scoring rate and scores are going down across all formats, and ask him to play only one format - Zero-0.
