Since many years, it has been getting proven that 98% of the time Sachin never plays well when top order delivers. He just gives an impression that the pitch is tough, fails miserably and thereby fails to keep the momentum layed by top order.
This is one of the things I have been recommending to cricket fraternity that at this stage of his career such kind of performance is not at all acceptable
Sad to see the fast Eng bowlers have started to drop their heads ... as there is nothing much offered to them from the pitch. 19 more days of torment is waiting for them. Pay back time .... nothing less than 4-0 would satisfy the Indian Fans....
Dhoni angry me very much for not included anybodies from bangaloru. after dravid retirements why he not including replacement from bangaloru . our robim utahapa is not gets chances . he could had replace Dravid. instead he taken pujara as if somebody from Baroda/gujrat retire.
this problems with dhoni of not included anybodies fro bangaloru.

If you are worried about work hours, then first stop that non-sense called Bollywood films! In terms of person-hours lost, it is much more and the output is negative energy created in millions of people! We will come back to cricket after you ban those non-sense films first!!
Now what about the English ? What lessons India should learn from their mistakes in the field on the first day ? First, they got their playing XI wrong-Monty Panesar should have replaced one pacer. On a very slow outfield Captain cook’s defensive field setting didn’t make much sense. So Dhoni must set an attacking field rather than settle for a defensive field as the English Captain did. The English also introduced the spinners late late and pacers were bowled for very long spells on unhelpful conditions. So, Dhoni must introduce spin attack at the earliest opportunity. Further, till the time he brings in double-spin attack, he should use short spells of pacers from one end with long spin spells from the other end. But for poor catching G Swan could have been simply more devastating and would have ended the day with 6-7 wickets. India must not make such mistakes of dropping catches. In the morning India must start batting at slow pace and not be in hurry .Drag the batting till Tea time to a score of 450-500 min..
So the media pressure seem to have worked and worked very well on the Indian opening pair of Sehwag and Gambhir. One had to see to believe the way the generally cavalier fashion hitting Sehwag applying himself to stay on the wicket and making no rash shots.Let there be no doubt that the English bowlers bowled him all very very straight balls and Sehwag also played with very very straigh bat.The only time Sehwag played across was after lunch when he tried to sweep G swan and got out.It was bit of a bad luck as the ball kept low.Given his class if Sehwag plays like this then India should get good start in the remaining matches also.As far as Gauti , in the first session he too ‘hung on’ doggedly although lacking fluency. He too seemed to consciously avoid his usual those ‘off-side’ perilous shots with good leaves mostly working the balls on to the he leg side. But after lunch he was suddenly the same player we have been seeing him play towards the off-side w/o properly reaching to the ball and got out exactly the way he would get out during the last over 1-2 yrs .That way Gambhir appears to be still ‘work in progress’ and if he continues to play like this in the 2nd innings and in the 2nd Test , then he should be replaced by Ajinkay Rahane for the remaining two Tests. The other Indian highlight of course was Pujara’s brilliant batting. His innings looked much better than his NZ innings with WALL like defence and also looked quite

they delivered when they got last chance to stay in the team....sad
It took sehwag 2 years to score a century; gambhir has not scored ton for 3 years and we still have these people in team coz they're well connected. On the other hand, class player like Wasim Jaffer, youngsters like vijay, karthick, uthappa are dropped for failing in one or 2 series. Why can't the selectors stick to them for 2/3 years like they've with sehwag and gambhir????? This is really shameful. sehwag and gambhir should be playing first-class cricket rather than Jaffer, vijay and dinda. prove your worth there and fight your way back into the team. Hopeless situation

Look what idiot is saying about indian greatest test batsman viru only one to score two triple tons...seems this vadapav dont know cricket jaffer failed so many times that was a reason this legend was made to open...

Nonsense. Jaffer was dropped after failing as opener in only 1 series (Test tour of Australia), 3 test matches to be precise. Had he got the backing of selectors like sehwag or gambhir, he'd be in Indian team and these jokers playing first class cricket or retired.

if swann can do that,ur right on. Our spinners including the oldie harbajan singh are definitely better. if they score more than 450,hope so.will see tomorrow morning session. Pujara after being overlooked by selectors for rohit sharma deserve to prove that they made the right choice.
