Who is W V Raman? !!!
by Ravi on Nov 07, 2012 07:37 AM  | Hide replies

Is he the same guy who couldn't hit the ball outside the inner fielding circle just because he couldn't lift the bat above his waist?

True, in your terms, only Lara, tendulkar & Ponting should be Selectors, board - president and Coaches. Nayan mongia, sunil joshi or vijay bharadwaj doesnt know anything about cricket. Boss it all depends on ones experience and it doenst mean, only successful cricketers gain exp. WV Raman for your fyi,is well read, he can impart whatever lil knowledge he has to his players EFFECTIVELY.

Moronic team selection. How can Murali Vijay & Ishant Sharma, two perpetual failures in even domestic circuits, get selected?

Listen to Gavaskar's comments. If a player fails in domestic circuit, that doesn't mean that he doesn't deserve a place on national side.

This is simply because Indian domestic cricket is below global standard. They are played in empty stadiums for years now.

Rest is just your personal opinion.

@RAVI,

I dunno what to say about ur analysis. If playing in full stadium is the parameter for selecting a player, than there wudnt be any Indian team as such, coz evrybody went thru the same grind, empty stadiums, non-existant infrastructure, sub-standard pitches. Not upto global standards means, using of technology, fitness consciousnes and all, it doesnt mean, we dunno how to play.

Listen carefully what gavaskar said. " If a player has 1000s of runs in international cricket, 100s of wickets in international arena he doesn't have to be ignored based on his domestic failures. How many centuries vijay has in international cricket ? 10? 20?

yes , he is the same guy who started as a bowler and number 11 for tamilnadu but was asked to open for india while siddhu was hiding during overseas tours. in a career spanning more than a decade raman only played 3 tests in India and rest overseas (facing donald and pollock). He was also 12th man of team India for a Decade(taking catches at forward shortleg while sunny bhai and co were resting in the dressing room). He has BTW won ranji trothies as a player and coach (both TN and Bengal). Saurav ganguly rates him as the best coach in the country.....

Raman

He is used to make some funny(pathetic) expressions with his face especially after taking a single. Somewhat similar to Srinath in his early days after bowling a delivery. Stamina was on the lower side i guess.
But seems to be a decent human being.

hey idiot, you are bringing disgrace to tamil people; if you say about Badrinath and shut your mouth after that then there is no issue; if u starts including dinesh, balaji etc u r bringing disgrace to tamil people; u can't play a tamil team as national team; i am also from chennai

mr christian shame on you. u may be from chennai but u dont know anything abut cricket. balaji was leading wicket taker for india and forth overall in the recently concluded WC. if rahane is selected just bcos of couple of good IPL knocks then dinesh kartick definitely should make to the team. I live in bangalore but still love my state and language above everything else

@ Antony

You should realise that Sharanu is not a tamilian or from Chennai.... Someone faking like a Chennaite to make an issue here and trigger others to write negative about Chennaites....

Good tactics Sharanu... I can understand this is how you are showing your anger for not selecting K'taka or Bengal players. Good one.. Keep it up.
