We all know dada could not win the wc, now he is afraid that msd will beat his record in tests, that is why he is advoacting gambhir. leave alone captaincy he is down on batting form as well (in tests)

Remember that Ganguly has made a strong Indian team from the shadow of Match fixing scandals and the captaincy failure of Sachin. He was even close to win the worldcup in 2003 apart from a great success in Australia and England series. Remember he never lost to Australia 0-4 or England 0-4.
I am not Dada fan but agree with him on this point. Dhoni does not deserve to be in test match squad. Blocking one precious place just because there was no replacement captain.
We know how the BCCI works there are wheels under wheels ,there are a number of factions ,some powerful some not so .Now with Sreenivasan , Sreekanth ,CSK Do you think BCCI Will think of a change . Gambhir said correctly a captain is as good as the team is . Having said that we have seen when things are going wrong , Dhoni is lost - if you have seen the Australian tour and English tour - same things are repeated with absurd regularity even in the team so How can you plan to change - nothing this is another ruling party like congress ,there is no will to change and take control of situation .
Gambhir helped win KKR a T20 title and dear old dada wants him to lead a test team! If you apply that logic in reverse, dada should've won all three previous ipl finals when he was with kkr :)
CSK success credit goes to Indian players such as Dhoni,Raina,Ashwin,Vijay,Jakati,Badrinath,etc.
KKR success credit goes to Kallis,Naraine,Shakib and Macculum.Without these four KKR would not have been even in top 6..
So,Dhoni's team is really Indian team and benefits Indian cricket more than KKR.
Gambhir has to first lead a team of 11 Indian players in T20 in a tournament in Australia or England.If he succeeds there and India becomes champion,then Gambhir can become captain of test team...
