Enigma
by Dhurandar Bhatavdekar on May 22, 2012 10:44 AM

This man is something of an enigma. A calm demeanour even at the peak of his hitting capabilities, he represents a zen or monk like character who simply doesn't get affected by his achievements. Compare with some lesser mortals like Kevin Pollard who jump around like monkeys after hitting a couple of sixers

you should have watched his game during the 1983 WC. He is a master. He played the fastest bowlers with ease/

it appears strange West Indies touring England without Gayle , Narine , Bravo , Smith , Coopers etc. great players should be shown some leniency for greater glory. there may be differnces but should be patched up gracefully without harming the game . after all the game comes first.

West Indian cricket is like Indian hockey. Both live in past glory. Both are badly affected by politics. Both are losing audience gradually.

Amit, inspite of West Indies lacking such great players they did well in the test against England. But most of our tests overseas finish on the 4th day itself with India losing.

Flat Track Bully

Gayle is just another flat track bully.
I remember he was struggling against fast bowlers like Tait on fast Australian wickets.

Big bash or IPL are here for entertainment, they don't give u the true calibre of a batsman.Regarding the triple 100s mentioned here in tests, one is in St.John's and other in Galle, both are famous for tall scores.

Even with Chris Gayle included, the best test batsman in WI will be Chanderpaul who has consistently scored against all opposition teams.Having said that with Gayle's inclusion it will certainly boost up WI batting.

Other players need to perform,he has done rcb proud by winning many watches, other 10 players should have done a lot to make to the playoffs

Had he played for the nation
by sunny India on May 22, 2012 10:04 AM

Had he played for the nation, he would have been the national hero by now.

Instead he played for a high-school team called RCB. If he scores 70 , the team wins.

Focus on his national team
by Vineesh Vedsen on May 22, 2012 09:55 AM

Gayle should focus more on his national team rather than wasting time in IPL that too for RCB who is not good enough. In England, WI is losing test inspite of Chanderpaul brave show and here Gayle, Dwayne Smith are winning accolades.
