One day cricket or t20 or t30 cricket ONLY must be allowed and THEY MUST BE ALLOWED TO BE PLAYED ONLY ON WEEK-ENDS OR HOLIDAYS so that we do not lose millions of working hours of men and women and youth any more and we do not remain poor forever due to useless and time-wasting and Boring TEST Cricket too. All patrrioti c citizens and sponsors MUST BOYCOT TEST Cricket and ranji and dulepp trophy cricket FORVER if they love the nation and want the nation to be supoer power in next 20 or 25 years too!

STARTING POINT HAS TO BE TO BRING BCCI UNDER RTI---II
by damodaran mohan on May 21, 2012 07:19 PM

Equally important is for the IPL management to make all payments to players by Fr'ches through above board contract and transparent systems. As surfaced in the sting opn. there should not be any under the table payment involved either to the uncapped players or to the 'icon' players. No cap is advisable for uncapped players and a separate open auction can be organized for them. Further, there should not be any problem with addition of 'glamour& entertainment' within limits. Draw up clear-cut ground rules for the different stake-holders like BCCI officials, IPL officlals, Stadia officials, security, owners/fr'ches, players, broadcasters’ men., celebraties…..spectators and all other players forming part of IPL event and strictly implement them in professional manner.IPL is necessarily a sporting –cum commercial venture like any other such international sporting event , say UEFA championship, EPL etc. and such on & off-field aberrations are bound to creep in. The challenge is to manage them through transparent and accountable systems rather than throw the ‘baby’ with the ‘bath –water’. Starting point could be to bring BCCI and affiliated state units under RTI.

Even if one doesn't agree fully with Kirti Azad but it must be conceded that BCCI can ill afford not to address the issues he has flagged for the very survival of IPL. Good, bad and ugly are part and parcel of everyday life but that doesn’t make us stop living. Large scale corruption have become an integral part of our Democratic polity .Even Parliament is not spared of the charges of accommodating and compromising with criminal elements. But we don’t ask for banishing of Democracy and bringing Army rule , do we ? Neither do we clamor for the Parliament to be shut down ! Then why such clamor for closure of IPL? Course correction in IPL required ? Yes. Right from the matter relating to the alleged 'investment ' of unaccounted Money from abroad to the smallest ‘nitty-gritties’ need a thorough review for sure. The present system of ‘investment & ownership is indeed very complex but politicians often tend to oversimplify trying to play to gallery. What is needed is review of the related tax laws to simplify to facilitate 'transparent' means of investment w/o having to break laws. Then there is the matter of ‘conflict of interest’, w/o resolving which it might be next to impossible to objectively frame IPL rules.

kirti aazad's flop show.
by pramod shendye on May 21, 2012 12:07 PM

IPL has become a platform for young talented cricketers who do not get place and recognition in Indian team. Ambati Raydu, Dhawal Kulkarni, Ashok Dinda, Mayank Agrawal, Anirudhha Srikkanth, Ashok Meenariya, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, Pankaj Singh, Amit Singh, Abhishek Jhunjhunwala and many others have got fame and money. what is wrong in it? Kirti Aazad is probably not getting a chance to play anchor's role in IPL and he has got frustrated. IPL should continue. Hangame kahan nahin hote. Hamari Sansad to IPL se jyada badnam hai.

IPL Commissioner has strictly instructed players not to fart as Kirti Aazad might blame IPL for air pollution too.

Both winners (BCCI and Kingfisher)

Beggar Mallya got millions from Cementvasan.
BCCI will get millions if CSK came to playoffs.
Both winners and gullible cricket watching public are the biggest losers.

RCB..

All other teams [except murky CSK], are quiet fine..

by any standard.

Allow only players with a decent background,

both for Coach as well as for player..

not Sharabi barons.
