Dada is one of those selfish creatures who will never miss a chance to be in the limelight. Chappel had the courage (since he is an Australian and believe in performance) to make Dada sit out due to poor performance. He only wanted to give youngsters a chance (who ultimately lifted the world cup). But the Indian crowd will never realise this. They just want to continue with selfish players like Dada (and now Sachin) for the times immortal and wait for another 28 years for our next world cup success. Australian think tank like Greg will never fit in the Indian culture and selfish players will continue to fool people around by playing one good innings and hanging up for another 10 useless ones

can you tell me how many Australian or any cricketer played 10 match winning innings consistently and retired because they failed at one occasion??
Re: Re: Googly

Its not able matching winning innings... Fact, i don't remember a single one in googly's whole career in real cricket (i mean tests)... If a captain can't take critical feedback does he deserves to be one?
By the way, i don't remember an australian great stuck soo long, for the sole reason of being captain...

I think you forgot the recently retired Aussie player. Adam Gilchrist, Shane Warne, Mcgratt, Hayden, Justin Langer. They retired with grace rather than selfish crickter like ganguly.
Ganguly is mentally strong. that was the reason for his success as a Captain. He had the guts to fight with any opponent in their own backyards. Dhoni is also mentally strong, but over confident in many occasions is the only problem. here, SRK said it rightly now, as our silly media people are asking silly questions to make their mirch masala only...

Buddy, We all know what happen in nagpur test and how willing the so called mentally strong guy is to open in test cricket...
Re: Re: strong

I am not a die hard fan for him. But fyi, it was not that fear factor forced him to sit out. But, he was angry that the Administrators did not follow his demands.. that's all. Otherwise, he had opened in England, EI or Aus. in number of times.
Re: Re: Re: strong

Oh, i don't know!!! how many times he opened in real cricket (i mean test cricket) in AUS, ENG!! By the way why should administrartors listen to him... Ego?? So his ego i bigger than country?? And some ppl say he is the greatest captain!!!

Why should he open in test cricket by your logic Sachin is also not a capable batsman so is Ponting because they have never opened in real Cricket.
Re: Re: Re: Re: strong

In your home ground you should listen to your team for preparing the pitch. But it was not done in Nagpur because of some differences between manohar and dalmiya. So who is not thinking of the country? You decide. Australians were also very happy and said we thought the test is in Perth. The other thing is that Sourav scored a century in his last test also, and everybody was saying why he is retiring at that time, you guys are talking about real cricket and making decisions based on IPL this is utterly ridiculous.
Re: Ganguly is better than SRK
by abcdefgh on May 15, 2012 05:58 PM
again you are making comparison between actor and cricketer. so you are useless as you are making useless comparison (check your ownstatment)
Dhoni: 2 world cups for India, 2 IPL titles for CSK, 1 champions league title for CSK, India became No.1 test team under him.
Ganguly: No world cup for India, India lost most ODI series finals under him, his IPL teams were worst in performance, India were No.3 or 4 in Tests under him mainly because of Sachin, Dravid and Laxman.
Dhoni is clearly a leader(his CSK team is not great still he manages the lesser players to perform excellently) while Ganguly always needs a strong team to do well as a captain.

Dhoni is also humble as a leader unlike Ganguly who has false pride and ego and fights with icons on and off the field.

Dhoni never had to deal with unfair criticisms. India became No.1 test team winning test matches in India. Dhoni's overseas record is nothing to write about

india drew test series for the first time in South Africa in 2010. Is that a small achievement?

Simply put...Dada is the best captain of Indian cricket team. Dhoni is the captain of best Indian cricket team.

Mr.Don let me refresh ur memory. Gangully took over the team when it had reached its bottom. Match fixing, losses, team India had bottomed up. Gangully took over from such position and took to No.1 team in test. It reached world cup finals first time after 1983. Ganguly had a successful world cup personally, scoring 465 runs at an average of 58.12, including three centuries. Under him India has drawn and retained 2003-04 Border-Gavaskar series in Aus (so far Dhoni could not do this). In this series Gangully personally scored 144 in 1st test saving India from 62/3. Like many greats he slipped after peaking, loosing B-G series in India and personal performance also declined. Dhoni took over from him to take team India to new height. Most people remember failures rather than success and u are not any exception. God forbid if Dhoni starts failing then u or someone of ur mentality will write saying how bad captain Dhoni was.

India went to finals in 2003 mainly due to Sachin's form in tha world cup as he won match against Pak single handedly and also was man of the tournament.

When Sachin got out against Pak we required another 105 runs of 17 overs with 6 wickets. Then had a great partnership between Rahul and Yuvraj, why are you saying Sachin single handedly won the match??
