threat
by Javed Shaikh on May 13, 2012 02:26 PM

this is a open threat to the pwi team that ganduly will be back and will be increase the oppositions chances of winning. the shameless beggar had to be kicked out of the indian team because he himself wasnt willing to step down even after failing consistently for 3 yrs and he still hasnt learn his lesson. And now i await all the hate mails fro these parochial bangalis from waste bangal, who cos they cant argue with my logic, will tarnish my religion.

Actually, while sitting in the player area and watching the match, I was praying Maa Durga that the team should lose, enabling me to stake a claim for re-entry.

i-d-i-o-t. He playe for team India and prayed for team India even when he was out of the team. But for the dirty politics played against him, he would have done lot more to Indian cricket.

agree completely. this landuly guy was always a selfish player, for whom personal glory and landmarks meant more then the teams success. Even while playing for india, he always slowed down while approaching a 50 or a 100 and while captaining india, just refused to step down inspite of failing for 3 almost yrs (untill his backside was kicked).

I can't Imagine how shameless this man is and how low he can go for his ego. Instead of sitting and giving chance to others like vettori this Man again wants to humiliate himself and his team.

I think when he was there in the team , though in defeat, the performance was better than the pedestrian test like approach yesterday. It is just another two games and it doesn;t make much difference

Ganguly should not play IPL anymore, not even the MENTOR of PWI. I dont understand why he is humiliating himself. If he has a little bit of self respect he must step down. He has enough money(by family business, earnings through CKT, endorsement, from BCCI,CAB,ESPN-STAR, even before India team entry he was from a very rich family),fame and national pride(Padmashree and Arjun award). What does he want to prove more ? Everybody knows his performance and cricket charisma. There was a time he came back bravely and successfully after Chappel story but then he was not in age 40 like now. If he is thinking of same come back it will not be possible. Franchise has total right to choose players but it is the player who will decide not to humiliating himself. Why he will give chances to let him evaluate by franchise owner who knows nothing about CKT. In fact it has been proved that it was not Ganguly, rather Sahara for whom PWI is loosing, by not taking part in IPL 5 auction. He should leave gracefully and not to take part in any form of CKT. Even Sachin and Dravid should not play in IPL 6. It is very sad to watch that our national icons are being humiliated by some money oriented businessman or root less film stars and icons are gladly let them doing so. They are ruining their fame which they earned by playing for the country for a money oriented club tournament.

All through his cricketing life -which was a very successful one mind u -dada has always suffered from the Dravid effect ! Maybe it has something to do with them debuting together in England. As long as Dravid is playing dada also wants to hang on to his pads . What he does not realise that His contribution to Team India was a brilliant captaincy while Dravid was Batsman personified ! In pure cricketing skills dada can never match a Dravid -as it is shown again in this IPL !

Learn from KKR
by Saurav on May 12, 2012 10:39 AM  | Hide replies

Once Ganguly got out of KKR, the team started showing the results! Now, don't say he worked hard for 3 years and prepared the team and Gautam Gambhir just enjoys its benefits! His biased fans may even say that!

Same thing will happen with Pune! He will prepare them the hard way by finishing at the bottom for 3 years and then move on to another team. Then Pune will do better!

Ask Chris Gayle and McCullum if you want proof!!

140 Plus Rate of scoring in T20. Clarke is NOT a T20 Player.

They also lost key players like McCullum, Gayle, instead got players like Kallis whom many considered not suitable for T20! And they are winning without Pathan's contribution. It is the team spirit which improved once the politics went off!

Saurav, KKR's main Strength is in Bowling. Sunil Narine is a Dream Spinner for them,
making a huge difference! and Gambhir has steadied the batting.

I dont think that ganguly deserves so much of noise against him. He is not solely responsible for warriors defeat. We should see other captain in IPL. dada is ahead in performance. Dada should play next IPL also.

Agreed,Sunil, tendulkar CAN play attacking Cricket Sometimes. But on the average in T20 Cricket, you have to score @ 140 Rate. tendulkar Averages 100 which is good considering his Age, but T20 is a game of 20 Years Boys!![I am NOT belittling Tendulkar's Achievements]

Actual prob with pune warriors is that they dont have power hitters/finiishers. Thats why they loose by 1 to 10 runs at the end.
Captaincy of Ganguly is undoubtedly at its best, but how any one can expect him to become a power hitter after retirement?
Thats obviously unfair & too demanding.

Arvind, there ARE Pinch hitters in Warriors.[Steve Smith, pandey, etc.] Agood Captain like Shane Warne harnessed the limited Resources available with him, but Ganguly thought that HE Personally should fill the Vacuum, which was NOT Practicable! Why did he not try Tamim Iqbal? Mazumadar is Promising.

Shane had a wonderful service of watson, pathan, grame smith and sohail tanvir, that is why they won that T20. He is no doubt a good captain and player but he alone coudn't have won IPL 1.
