Money is the root of all evil. We are doomed by the ongoing tamasha. Why sponsor a game where we are at the bottom?

We were at the top in tests but this evil bought the ranking down to now fourth, all becasue of excessive sport, player fatigue and the same old 3, 5 nations tournament.

The worth of IPL will be seen when Eng and Aus come here
by Narayanan Mahalingam on May 08, 2012 12:39 PM

The coming season will see Indian test cricket dive towards a bottom less pit.

Our days of home dominance will be over. England will be no pushover as the win in SL showed.

The honeymoon is three weeks more. The fun starts for Srikkanth and his bunch of jokers after that.

Who is Morkel to say this ?
by sameer pandita on May 08, 2012 11:35 AM

Would have made sense had Gary Kirsten said this as he has served Indian Cricket for quite some time and has analyzed it from close quarters .
What Morkel says is his personal opinion and Rediff should refrain promoting such articles .

Try something different
by Dave Law on May 08, 2012 09:47 AM  | Hide replies

Expected answers, what else they can say? Ask any overseas player, they will lament how IPL helps Indian cricket, how good their team are and how great Indian cricket, its public and its hero Sachin. This IPL got all overseas players to heap praise on India which can't be said few years before but the reality is something different. Try some different topic rediff..

hmm there is a smell of jealousey. Since when India has achieved a key position, such comments are coming from the nationalities belonging to wenstern or their slaves in india. Comon Law be sporty and accept the Might of India in World Cricket.

I'm not jealous here but at that same time I can't be happy for this so called super power in world cricket. This actually blinds the sorry state of affairs in Indian domestic cricket and preventing us from becoming the real super power of cricket, the unbeatables in all forms of cricket. The problem is we Indians are satisfied with small victories and never bothered to look at the bigger picture. Can't blame anyone as we used to compromise ourselves to mediocrity and not known to aggressively persue excellence.
