Why players like Ravindra Jadeja, Utthappa, Rohit Sharma, Dhoni are paid so high ? See their poor performances and lack of consistency ! The franchisees should think a lot before buying a player. Ajinkya Rahane is getting just $44000 only and he was the top scorer so far ! The payment should be performance based.
Sehwag and Gambhir were utter failures in Australia, when the Team India badly needed their performance ! Now they are showing their performance maybe because they are getting fat amounts in IPL and the format of T20 is tailor made for batsmen !

Jadeja don't even deserve 20K dollars, he got 2000K dollars...100 times more than he deserved, CSK have gone mad, simply wasting 2 millions on him.
Gambhir and Sehwag were being rested with the reason of "Senior players should be out from international team and young players should get chance". In actual these are the players have got lot of potential and proved their worth in team. It was in actual, another Dhoni blonder who is trying to save captainship for some more time and don't like his compititors in team. How good he was untill away from all that!!!
Re: Players rotated in AU are on TOP

dont talk rubbish...gambhir and sehwag are dhoni's star players and responsible in a big way that india won tests under tests under dhoni and were no. 1 test team for about 2 years. It was not because of sachin but because of other 10 players our fantastic bowlers and our two great openers who gave fantastic starts at a very good strike rate so that we could get other team out twice.
but what can he do if sachin does not retire...since it is even beyond dhoni's power to remove sschin he has to drop either one of them so that new generation players (rohit sharma) can be included. when sachin, ganguly sehwag were there same thing happened to gambhir and kohli. gambhir had indeed openly said that he had considered quitting cricket because he was not getting chances in the indian team despite scoring prolifically in domestic matches.
it was because ganguly was removed/dropped and sahcin took rest from time to time that gambhir and kohli could establish themselves...
now that the greedy and uncaring sahcin refuses to quite from odis again the same thing is happening. that is why dhoni had to do it this way...
i hope you understand...stop criticising dhoni wrongly and understand what is good for the indian team...viz. that the new generation players get more chances to establish themselves in the indian team...

If Dhoni is so good what is your answer for his contribution/white wash in Eng/Aust/Asia cup ? He rides on the contribution of famed Five & playing in India and luck. Indian selectors are spineless & intend that their quoto of player is in team. Due to the quoto system only Raina,Yuvi,Kohli is in Indian team. What is the contribution of Dhoni in Indian wins abroad ? The above three along with Dhoni can't play balls rising above knee.
Re: Re: Re: Players rotated in AU are on TOP

sivanandan if dravid, laxman, sachin etc. are so good what is your answer for their contribution/white wash in eng/aust?
BTW dhoni was MOS in england odi series...imagine dhoni belonged to the team which was whitewashed...but he was considered best among both the side to be awarded MOS...that tells how good he is and whether he can bat abroad or not...

Sunil you mentioned about Dhoni's star openers & also fantastic bowler.. Fantastic bowler???R u kidding. & yes just by criticising Sachin, Ganguly u don't become a good analyst. Sachin's contribution to the cricket is immense & he is still performfing better than anyone. Check stats for that. Regarding Ganguly..If any Indian compare Dhoni over Ganguly, he should go & consult some psychologists. Dhoni is not in that class. His performance, handling of seniors, trying to emulate Ganguly by supporting some useless palyers like Jadeja bears testimony to that.
Re: Re: Re: Players rotated in AU are on TOP
by Sunil Vaidya on May 11, 2012 08:28 PM
sandeep patra, what did sachin, dravid, laxman do in the whitewashes? ganguly holds the record for being captain in the maximum finals that india entered but did not win...and yes sachin was PRESENT in almost all those finals...and yes, dhoni was NOT present in most of the finals...
sandeep we became no. 1 in all the formats only after new generation players came into the team...
and yes simply criticising, dhoni or new generation players like jadeja and others u dont become a good analyst...
Re: Re: Re: Re: Players rotated in AU are on TOP
by Sunil Vaidya on May 11, 2012 08:29 PM
and sandeep sachin himself has said dhoni is the best captain he played under...and ganguly has also agreed that dhoni is a better captain than him...go make what you want of their opinions...

sameer bhagwat, win is a win whether at home or abroad. and it is not as if we played bangladesh, zimbabwe, wi at home. we have defeated sides like aus, sa, eng at home. Under dhoni we have won 4 out 4 tests against aus and we have also against sa...we have yet to lose a test series under dhoni in india and we have won against the best sides. so you dont talk rubbish. and dont aus, sa, eng etc. win at home. so do you want to give no value to the wins scored by the above countries in their home?
besides dhoni has good record even abroad. agreed that we lost 2 very bad series under dhoni in aus and eng. but otherwise we have done very well under him abroad also.
at home tests under dhoni we have won 12 lost 1 and drawn 5. at home odis under dhoni we have won 27 lost 13 and nr/tied 2 at home T20 under dhoni we have won 2 and lost 2
abroad tests under dhoni we have won 5 lost 9 and drew 5 abroad odis under dhoni we have won 40 lost 28 and nr/tied 8 abroad T20 under dhoni we have won 11 lost 12 and nr/tied 2
so except those white washes in tests under dhoni we have done very well abroad too...

A big thanks should be told for Greg Chappel and Gary Kirsten. Not to forget Yuvi. MSD's captaincy is media hype and nothing else. No technique, no talent, full of politics. Most of the series were won over weaker teams, occasionally sometimes over a weakened Australian side at home..... Even India won over WI in Sehwag's captaincy when you fanboys were wishing India's loss due to absence of Dhoni. When other countries come to India, very rarely do they give in without a fight, unlike our team under Dhoni. We saw the worst possible defeats, and even then he is shamelessly continuing.... He is the one dividing the team, traitor.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Players rotated in AU are on TOP
by Sunil Vaidya on May 08, 2012 07:19 PM
well kutty, going by your opinion and explanation it means that even if msd was not there we would have won....and since msd won when conditions were easy or teams were weakened etc. etc. it means that why only msd all other 10 players whenever they were involved in any wins were all useless wins...so they are also as useless and overhyped as msd....what can i say about this type of reasoning....if you think so then you are welcome to your opinion that we would have won all these matches without msd and since all these matches were easy and useless and did no credit to msd then the same is applicable to others also taking india to no. 1 in all formats in easy conditions, or useless or weakened teams or fixed matches...
in a nutshell with or without msd all these wins and no. 1 rankings etc etc. is totally useless and unworthy and meaningless...
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Players rotated in AU are on TOP

Child, victories are not useless. But MSD is..... With or without MSD, the team would have won those matches. We are not whistleblowers like you to make a mountain of a molehill in lickingMSD:) And by the way, think about your reasoning skills before speaking about others.....

Neither does he keep wickets well, nor does he give chances for good keepers like Saha/Ojha.

If the pitch is easy to score runs, he comes up the order. We saw this so many times, like WC final/IPL Match vs PWI/RR. If it is difficult, he hidesbetween Jadeja and come at a position where he can give excuses that it was too late.

wrong again kutty, it is people who lack cricket knowledge like you who say such things... in reality ask any cricket player, commentator and people who really understand the nuances of cricket that dhoni plays brilliantly under pressure and has rescued india many times from tight corners and taken them to wins which looked improbable or difficult before he came to the crease...if he bats second he rescues india and takes india to win...if bats first he has rescued india many times and helped india post a intimidating total...but you people will understand this only if you are ready to to put your hate aside...and be honest with yourself...
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Players rotated in AU are on TOP
by Sunil Vaidya on May 09, 2012 11:53 AM
yes kutty, i suppose that is why out of all wicketkeepers who played for india dhoni has the best record as a wicket keeper, wicket keeper batsman and as a captain...
why dont you really keep your biases aside and do some real HONEST analysis...

Child, Why dont YOU keep your obsession aside and do some real HONEST analysis? In reality everyone in front of the camera has to say something good of Dhoni when asked. They cannot be enemies of fan boys like you blow it out of proportion. Well, if it comforts you to think that Dhoni is everything, there is no one stopping you. Go ahead.... :)

kutty i said win is a win...and you are saying the same thing that victory is not useless...
i am not making a mountain of a molehill...i am saying things as they are...i am not licking dhoni...you people are wrongly abusing dhoni...u people are just showing your ungratefulness and refusing to recognise the good things he has done...
and if we would have won anyway with or without msd...then well we can say the same thing about any other player...we would have won with or without sachin, dravid, laxman, ganguly, kumble, bhajji, gavaskar, amarnath, kapil dev etc. etc... too...

Your holiness, if you accept that you are a crackpot, I am ready to accept the same.
This list cannot give a correct picture considering some of these players were retained by the franchisees, the prices quoted against these players is the retainment fee and not the actual fee paid to the player. f.ex sachin, sehwag, dhoni the top notch players of indian cricket were all retained for $1.8m , but the actual amount they got from the franchisee would be much higher than quoted here (however that data is not available) . the underperforming stars on a bracket of retainment of $1.8 m or $1.3 m would be still further down this index.
