Dhonis Blunder
by Raman sSubramanya on May 07, 2012 09:18 AM  | Hide replies

Jadeja took two crucial wickets of Rohit and Rayudu and gave 12 runs in 2 overs. D Smith is weak against playing spin. One wonders what sort of captaincy by Dhoni. If he would have persisted with Jadeja, he would have folded Mumbai innings.

As a bowler, Jadeja is not being given full quota of overs by Dhoni ? One wonders at Dhonis attitude.

Hilfenhaus was the best bet for the last over. No doubt. I am surprised why he would bowl 2 full tosses one after the other in the crucial time. He has been so consistent with his length in the previous 3 overs. Something fishy.

Captain Cool running out of luck
by Mahesh V on May 07, 2012 08:51 AM  | Hide replies

All home series from 2008 to 2011 WC saw MSD being given all the credit for wins and being overhyped by commentators and media. But one overseas series in England and other in Aus in 2011-12 showed how good a captain he is. But the media and commentators still shy away from blaming MSD. When he gets the undue credit, then he has to take the brickbats too.

Correct, but it was the same case with Sachin..... His fans called him G-0-D. He was once the mainstay of the team, acceptable. But from 2000-01, it has been Dravid/Laxman in tests and Sehwag/Yuvraj in ODIs.

Sachin makes it look too easy
by Lush on May 07, 2012 02:31 AM  | Hide replies

When he is in form, it hurts other batsmen, as they play expecting it to be too easy.
When a great plays a good innings, rest should be more careful to build their innings. We have seen this effect for more than 2 decades and such are us that we blame Sachin for that.

I guess all great players and teams lose sometimes and this is not the first time Dhoni's team has lost whether IPL or international. What's the big deal here?

Mumbai were pure lucky my friend. If my Australian friend could have landed the ball on the ground then would have known about Dhonis captaincy

Thats what needs to be highlighted that it is not only the credit to be given to MSD when everybody plays well. He has to take the brickbats too when team is not doing well. Hehehe.

And anybody can be the best batsmen in the world by playing 80% in easy conditions...(and failing 80% in tough conditions)...(where other players rescue indian)

btw this innings also played on ''flat track in india'' and hence useless...

Pseudo,

As usual you got me wrong...dhoni plays well in 80% of the difficult times...he does not get much chance in easy conditions because sachin usually does not let him (or other indian players) do much...:)

also dhoni has got 50 or near 50 average in odis abroad too not just in india...in tests too he has not done all that badly considering that ''sachin'' dravid, laxman too dont have much different average than him as we saw in the whitewashes...

also if you remember in odis even though dhoni belonged to the whitewashed team he got the MOS...that is enough to show how good he is away too and can play well under pressure too...:)

When Sachin fails or socres at 120 strike rate (still top scorer for the side); SRT bashers come out in full strenght!!!
At least give credit to him when deserved...for magnificient 74...how many times we need to see when SRT departs...the side collapses....this time MI was lucky with Smith heroics but miracles don't happen every time so middle order be careful!!
Well played SRT, Rohit & Smith!!!!

Sachin did play really well today. But dont want to forget the 36 balls that he wasted to get the last 20 runs to his 100th Hundred; thereby knocking Indian out of ASIA cup

Had this match been Lost .. Sachin could be proved selfish again
by explorer on May 06, 2012 10:05 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin played 74 and at a time MI was 140 for 1. Sachin left and MI almost lost. But luckily the match is won. Otherwise a section could explain how selfish Sachin is.
