he is a laibility
by Javed Shaikh on May 06, 2012 08:13 PM

going by gandulys performances, it is actually the opposing team and ganduly versus pwi. This guy is a laibility and it is evident from the fact that kkr started doing well after kicking him out. Even in the indian team, ganduly was one of the most selfish players who would always slow down while approching a personal landmark.

ganguly the selfish...
by arvin g on May 06, 2012 08:02 PM  | Hide replies

he back stabbed sachin to become captain... then he was a failure for almost 2 years before his uncle dalmia fixed west indies series for him... then he won matches due to brilliance of sachin/dravid/kumble supported by harbajan/laxman... but media hyped him same way they hype dhoni now as the greatest captain... ganguly was such a great captain that he will fake injury rather than face likes of sohaib akhtar...
now he is destroying pune warriors keeping his self interest above team... this bong can do anything for money and stay in limelight...

completely agree. KKR ws at the very bottom when he was there and have suddenly started doing well with him out. But all these bangalis still say that PWI is doing well only cos of ganduly. My question to them is that if he was so good, why didnt calcutta do well under him?

When Ganguly took over the reins of Captaincy, Indian cricket was in dire straits; Match Fixing scandals, moral at the Nadir and no self belief. His greatest achievement is to completely change the psyche of Indian cricketers. They began believing in themselves, their ability & shed the also ran mentality and success followed. He taught them the old SAS adage, “ WHO DARES WINS”.

both dada & dhoni were simply overhyped.
Its match winner players who win the matches & not captain.
It was hype created by media which helped both of them to continue in name of captaincy even without any noticable performance for years & years.
Yes but as a player dada was far better than dhoni.
Useless manipulatoe dhoni will not find place in even SA/Aus/Eng A team

roy, the only ones agreeing with you are your fellow bangalis, and that is only cos most bangalis are so parochial. Most people from other states readily agree that ganduly was one of the most selfish players, who always slowed down while nearing personal landmarks..

Dear Pravas,

How would u like if I call u "Maura"? U people think u r superior or what? One cannot be superior just because he belongs to certain race. It is the individual talent which makes them distinguished. I have tremendous respect for the 'Marwari' people and have many a friends. Simultaneously I feel proud about certain SCB and RT and many more people. Do not make a general statement like this. It increases communal hatred.

It was bad luck
by surya das on May 06, 2012 05:52 AM  | Hide replies

This time Ganguly did every possibility to make things in order. First, in bowling he dropped Nehera, but sad their bowlers gave too many wides, poor bowling then extra ordinary poor fielding to give KKR a wide chance in the game.

150 in Eden is good total in T20.

Secondly, he himself brought down in batting order so that all in form batsmen will get as many balls as they need to score but all failed at one time. When ur team 70/6 then the only thing was a partnership which he did with Mathew. When both were get going some good catch and fielding dethrone them again.

But frankly speaking they should ve won this match and last match against MI.. Luck is not with them

the best thing ganduly can do is to drop himself. but you parochial bangalis will never agree. if you think he is so good, why dont you take him back in the calcutta team? When he was there, calcutta was at the bottom of the dump but oncce he was kicked out, they have now started doing well.

look at the scorecard..ganguly scored 36 from 35b.Out of 36,22 runs came from 5b which means he scored balance 14 runs from 30b. So he is just fit to be a non playing captain.

i agreed abot his running between the wkt. But, about comparing 36 runs incl 5b (which is 22 runs) from 35 balls..Do u apply same logic for others? Here u go :

Gambhir, the most successful batsman in this game scored 56 from 36 balls (4*4s=16, 2*6=12, total 28 runs) which means he scored 28 runs from 30 balls..which is bad in T20.. Mind, Im only comparing with the best player in this game..

My qu. is what abt top 5 batsmen, who failed miserably..how u expect a team will win against a top quality bowling attack when ur top 5 batsmen failed and u r chasing a good total.. Same this goes to fielders and bowlers..don't u see how badly there were bowling with 12 wides in T20 match.. out of few went boundaries..and what abt fielding..i never seen such a worst fielding..except few players like Smith..rest were below par..

Really glad that KKR win. The Kolkata crowd was an utter disappointment. Yes we understand that Bongs love Dada but that doesnt mean you stop supporting the home team. Tomorrow you wont see Bangalore crowd supporting RR! KKR's win was a slap on the crowds face!
And Gambhir is in great form, KKR deserved the win. And Ganguly needs to find his form, needs to learn from Dravid!

You are right, and look at them: They came wearing T-Shirts of PWI! How ridiculous can it get? I don't understand why KKR still persists with Kolkota as its base. Let it shift and leave these miserable ungrates to their loser kaptaan, who gave them top places from bottom, thirce, and who is going to do exactly that to Pune, who fell to his charms, unlike others, and he will make them pay by getting 1st place for them from down!

But, yes you will find many supporters for Dada.. its genuine if a person has given so much laurels to his home city, no matter which team he plays for, but he will get good support when he visit with opposition. and in India only Sachin and and Sourav ve that fan followings all over India..
