The only way for pune warriors to salvage some pride
by thomas mathew on May 04, 2012 03:51 PM

the only way to salvage some pride for pune warriors is to win all their matches from now on and this is possible only if Clarke leads and dada sits on the benches .

the 2 LBW's against PUNE
by nadeem zulfikar on May 04, 2012 01:33 PM  | Hide replies

Again umpires helped mumbai by giving two false LBWs.
first LBW given was for clarke, he was unlucky, ball was clearly going outside off stumps. but second LBW was not given for Ganguly, it was clearly pitching inline and was going into stumps in the bowling of OJHA, second LBW which wasn't given again favoured mmumbai, becuze ganguly wasted too many balls and blocked next batsmen. by the time parnel, bhuvaneshwar came to bat there was only 1 over left. still bhuvaneshwar hit one over the fence and took it close.

Cmon match is over now. PWI would not have won any case as they have gunguly as captain.

Only Clarke's lbw was harsh, as he had a big stride forward, and the trajectory of the ball was taking it across the right hander, it either may have just missed the off stump or would've just clipped the off stump.

The other two lbw appeals were good decisions.

In uthapa's case, granted the ball struck him a little high above the knee roll however, it wasn't that high enough and would've gone on to hit the top of middle & leg. as far as the line goes, there was no question about it as uthapa shuffled across the wicket exposing the timber.

ganguly's not out was also a good decision, you can't expect an umpire of asad rauf's calibre to give that out, there were too many things in it to see in realtime , the ball just by little pitched in line, it was always gonna be a hard call as some part of the ball was outside the line of leg. moreover, at the time of the impact ganguly had a big stride forward. it wasn't an easy one to give that in batsman's favour, rather it would've been dubious decision had ganguly been given .

Stop blaming on umpires. Your PWI team is a bunch of losers with aged captain.

i agree, these things happen too often in the game. but for the sake of clearing out things, just 1 dubious decision was made, so that's not as bad as is being made out , asnani thought it was hitting off. btw, dermot reeve is a hypocritical load of bs.

Humans retire at old age but gunguly don't. He deserve this fuming for batting like test match in T20 game.

The real man of the match
by thomas mathew on May 04, 2012 12:44 PM  | Hide replies

the real man of the match was Azad rauf the umpire who gave Clarke and Uthappa out wrongly and also did not give ganguly out on a correct LBW further helping Mumbai Indians

It was umpire S Asnani who gave Clarke out and not Asad Rauf. Asad Rauf is top-class international umpire next to Simon Tauffel.

it was asnani who gave clarke out. these things happen in cricket. that was a harsh decision.

rauf gave two very good calls in uthapa and ganguly's case.

I agree. 4-0-18-2 is much better than 4-0-25-2. Ryder & Clarke are bigger wickets than Ganguly & Parnel. Harbhajan deserved the MOM.

Good
Just one correction include Samuel in place of Mithun Manhas..
Bcoz he can hit the ball as well as can bowl couple of overs, good fielder as well.
