from today onwards..smith will open with ryder to use power play well..maybe in mumbai case..dada should open with ryder..so that smith is not sacrificed to chucker malinga..i also think of four foreign players..clarke smith parnell and thomas should play..then above scene changes and robin opens with dada..smith next.

Robin Uthappa needs to be given an ultimatum by the management to go all out and hit like a Sehwag . Pune lacks aggressive batting except for ryder sometimes . most of the time , watching Pune is like watching Australia under Steve waugh or early days of ricky ponting , in test matches, going for an average 5 runs per over .

the biggest mistake ganguly is doing is to promote himself to No 3. He should have Smith ir Samuels take no 3 and he should drop out to 6. he should start with spin like he did in the first match against Mumbai. If he wins toss, he should elect fielding and go for getting a target . And most important, the remaining matches being so crucial, he should not come in to bowl. he cant experiment and he should go for win as against any personal agenda.

Weak Link
by Jiju on May 03, 2012 06:20 AM

PWI's weak link at the moment looks to be in their batting. Clarke & Ganguly batted so slow in the last match. That was the main reason for the loss. And they should definitely not take the match to the last ball.
Uthappa is also proving a burden to the team. He has been given quite a few chances, but hasnt shown any signs of being a good batsman.
PWI should forget to qualify for the elimination round if their performance continues like this....
